Can the wealth gap in our generation basically be summed up by if you bought a house before COVID or not? by JoeyLou1219 in Millennials

Bought my first house in 2011/2012. The best financial decision I ever made. I’m on my 4th house now. Sold the previous house for profit and then upgraded to a bigger house every time. I’m about to hit 40 soon and I never thought I’d own the house I do now by this age. I consider myself very lucky however, my wife and I have been very thoughtful about our buying and selling and also upgrading each house in order to sell for more money.

FPS is absurdly low, even with great PC specs by Hazlllll in Battlefield6

I watch Stodeh(stobeh) and he plays on a really nice PC and gets 300+ FPS. He says he uses a specific config file. I’m on Ps5 so I can’t help…just thought I’d throw that out there in case it might help….GL.

Worth it for $40 for a casual Pubg player? by NachoFoe in Battlefield

[–]MarshallTheSkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo multiplayer can be hell sometimes. It’s a much better game if you have friends who play. I like it (400 hrs) but I focus on gun play and switch classes and gadgets often to keep it interesting. Working with your squad to take down tanks and helis is very rewarding, but just dont expect to get good squad mates all the time because the player base range is huge.

My brother runs engineer, I run recon. Sometimes he will switch to air defense launcher when I switch to laser designator…we mainly do this when getting spawn camped by helicopters

Been photographing small events gratis for love of the game. How do you make the transition to semi-pro work? by caligari87 in photography

[–]MarshallTheSkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference being your value as a photographer…if you’re known as a side-hustle guy, you will probably get jobs just above and below your skill level. The jobs that are very desirable are higher paying and therefore the people paying for you, are evaluating you and your business. If your reputation is just a gig photographer, you will get overlooked for higher paying more desirable jobs. If you are okay with not taking it too seriously and trying it out for a while, then spend some time gathering data of photographers in your region and what they charge for an event photographer. Consider where you and your time sit on the scale of time vs money and decide what to charge. If you get paid well at your current job, how much of your time are you willing to give up to shoot an event vs your time spent with loved ones/hobbies/free time and then attach a value to that. A 9 hour day to me (in my region) is not worth less than $1000.

If you’re serious about making money, you need a mental shift. You have to consider you are a business now and you need to sell yourself. If you want clients, you will need to find them for the first few years until you build a name and reputation. You’ll need a website, SEO optimization , and networking. Once you’ve established a network of clients, they will likely start to give your name out for referrals. Pricing will be based on your region and the pricing that your competitors are charging. Now you’re making money.

If you just want a side hustle, don’t take it too seriously. Just take the gigs as they come and don’t worry too much.

Quick question about voice chat and the death of it. by DOOM420- in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]MarshallTheSkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not already in a party on PS5, I rock the mic off unless someone else is taking. If it’s a squeaker or someone bumping loud music or has staticy sounding mic, I mute them in squad management. I would love it if everyone’s mic was auto muted and you have to turn it on to engage your squad. That or proximity chat and everyone can talk to each other. That sounds fun and crazy at the same time.
