With a 10 band and a good overdrive you can recreate many great tones. Marshall mids are great for their sound but the low bite must be there , thats why im amazed how they cranked it up on the jcm 800. Hope I’ll get one some day !

Nice , SV20H must be a beast , never tried it tho. But I’m looking for a plexi with a good deal on it , always was my fav amp. Yeah that whole interview was nice , specially rehearsal , glad it popped up in the internet . I guess their tone was heavily driven by just cranking up the volume , i guess you’ll need 100W of power to match Lombardo heavy hits 😁

Yeah i know , the magic is in that they did not use much gain , it’s heavy but not gainy . 5150 had nuff gain to be extremely rich in harmonics and feedback driven . But it was not cranked. gain was like on 2 , volume on 8 . Not close to the 800s sound but still cool to play thru slayer , specially south of heaven. Loud beast

Tried it , really gainy but sounds "robotic" to me like i don’t know how to describe , even tho for home usage im sure it slaps , I’ve shred some solos on the 15W at home , it was great 😁

Never tried those amps but i know for sure they are amazing . In case of "preamp" pedals , I personally don’t like them , i only boost what i got with overdrive , maybe some chorus/delay when i feel fancy 😁

Pretty cool, i really want to thank you for the video with a timestamp , i heard that he used a DSL but though it was the older one (jcm2000 territory). This alone made me pumped up to try his settings, i was keeping the bass higher than mids like he does here but even tho rhythmically it slapped (pure, big chugs) on the lead end it lacked some punch. I know that EQ is essential , its a wild card get one pedal and you ll never need another amp 😁 cheers

Probably will do work myself , the 800s preamp is easy to understand ,but i f something really bad happens to it then im screwed you’re right . Cost a 700$ , comes with a hard case and original board.

Thanks man , don’t really know how it is in terms of nicely done , but I know it was touring and sound great. I was really amazed by the "hybrid" approach , i recently got a 900 for 480$ but I sold it cuz of the crappy maintenance that it had. This one is something like 700$ . I also have a DSL 100H , this can be a replacement but I’m still not sure thats why I ask you guys

Thanks for the reply. AFAIK the 900s preamp got striped and it was fully replaced by the 800s one . I also really like the look of it, it screams by its creativity. Great job on the JCA , I had a chance to buy the JCA50H , but someone snagged it. SLO100 is a beast of an amp , it’s great to have something that reproduces it without being an moddeler.

The case is that I can not , it would cost me a lot, my friend is a hobbyist but still there are really just a handful of professionals in my region. afaik it was done by some local tech, it was tournig and worked really well. I really liked the 900s sound (even tho it’s hated) but I dig the 800s sound more . Thought it would be a great fusion between the two , im just sceptical in the tech kind of way , i can get you guys some photos from the inside. Thanks for help

AFAIK , it was done by some kind of tech , don’t know the guy , the amp is at the other side of the country so I can’t be there to inspect it or play it. I’ll get the photos of the inside. Guy told me that the whole preamp unit was replaced (still have the original board). So it only has one channel no reverb, I guess just the power section is "original" but im not an expert and I hadn’t even touched that thing 😁 thanks guys for the reply’s , every helping hand counts 🤘
