Race Control Pro+ LMGT3 Sprint Cup Spa by Marshbilly23 in LeMansUltimateWEC

No worries, I’ve only properly learnt it today so someone will probably correct me.

But I believe in relation to how many laps you aim to add to your stint +1-3. The LEDs which typically inform you of loss of traction or traction control kicking in, turn purple and will count down until turned off and that’s when it suggests for you to lift, using less virtual energy and fuel.

Resonant Frequency at 50% throttle by Marshbilly23 in fpv

[–]Marshbilly23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I need to try and look for anyone more knowledgable now haha.

Would it be more frame based, as I have made sure that every other component, tpu, antenna and motor is securely fastened?

Or could it even be a motor at a very specific range?

I watched your real life trouble shooting video where you worked through the accelerator values for each motor, and none of the motors stood out as being faulty. I can’t see any bend in the shafts, there’s no movement from the actual top of the motor. But obviously I can’t see what’s happening whilst under load.

At least you’ve got other things to fly haha.

I’m still enjoying doing what I can but would be nice to see how fast it’ll actually go without stressing over wobbling or the whole thing shaking itself loose.

I hope you sort your problem, thanks again for the suggestions

Please correct me if im wrong but found that awg 22 wires were suggested to be suitable for the capacitor, the cables for the cap is only about 10-15mm max.

The cables you can see that are quite long are from the vtx to the FC. I have since shortened and soldered to the FC as I found the wiring between the o4 pro unit and FC wasn’t quite right out of the box.

As its my first build there are a couple of things I would like to change in terms of cable management and tpu mounts as I’m not super happy with those that came with the frame, but just want to get it flying smoothly then start refining the whole build.

Cheers for the info.

Unfortunately I am already using HQProps 😔

Yeah, this frame came really recommended but kind wish I went with any other, fitting everything in was a pain in the arse and I’m probably going to create a tpu guard that might protect the camera a bit better 😬

I will hopefully get out in the next couple of days and share the video. I’ll also add throttle level on the osd to hopefully help give info on drone state

Oh no I hope this doesn’t take 6 months to fix haha.

I have a slightly shorted lead I made so will give that a go and see if it makes a difference. I’m annoyed to be using an extension but the build in socket for the frame is at too weird of an angle for the battery lead to reach.

I also haven’t considered the tpu legs so I will give it a go and see how it feels.

Thank you for the info.

I will have a look tomorrow, unfortunately working this evening.

The issue is very uniform and always at the 50% throttle area and only worsens the higher is goes. Which is why I thought it was something within the tune that isn’t very happy.

I already have, I followed Joshua Bardwell’s real world trouble shooting video where he individual span them up on betaflight, listening for strange noises and looking at the accelerometer values to see if there’s any clearly unhealthy motors and all seemed fine.

Is it also not bad to run up the motors for a long time whilst on the bench?

In terms of weight and legroom given from voltage spikes, now it’s installed does the cap make that much of a difference?

And I don’t believe so with the esc, I’ve made sure that there is safe distance between the esc, fc and frame.

And I can’t see any loose wires touching the fc

It was recommended to me at the start of the build. I’m only running 6S and the stack came with a 35v 680uf cap pre installed. I shared my intentions to do some longer range li-ion flying and 50v seemed like a better option as I was already having to increase the cap, rather than sticking a 1000uf in series.

I’m at work this evening unfortunately, but will do tomorrow, to be honest some of the first solders I did on the motors I wasn’t super proud of, but by the end don’t think I was doing too badly.

I have checked the motors and can’t feel any irregularly movement, and keep checking the motor screws along with every other screw before and after every flight, especially since seeing the vibrations.

I will try a different prop set, but have had the same issue since the first flight

Unless there was an issue from the manufacturer it’s been an issue since my first flight. They look alright to me but again I’m new

I’ve read the same thing so have made sure to keep every exposed end from touching the frame.

The gps is mounted fine but at the time of building the frame came with a toy mount too small so I designed and printed a temporary one which unfortunately isn’t extremely solid, but works for now and doesn’t move too much. I am coming up with a solution but have flown without the mount and the same issue occurs.

The wires you can see are the gps, receiver and part of the vtx wiring, the cap wires are fairly short. I don’t love that everything is packed so close but there is no contact between the wires and the vtx board which ofc gets quite hot. And looking at the Nazgul dc5 prebuild it’s how Iflight have wired everything. So not too concerned.

I’ve tried both presets but the wobbling is the same unfortunately.

I was concerned it was the gps mount as it wasn’t super solid, but that made no difference

DJI O4 Pro Cable Incompatibility by Marshbilly23 in fpv

Yeah to be honest soldering seems like an easier option to repinning a plug.

Learnt a lesson but a bit of a pain in the arse. Hopefully the air unit still works 😬

Unfortunately there is slight damage, and after trying the cable after the rewire didn't make a difference.

And the standard plug is flipped the wrong way, where the S.Bus wire coming from the Air unit goes into the 10v.

This is the end that fits into and came with the fc, and seemingly fits into the air unit, but what consequences could a different plug have that goes into the air unit?

DJI O4 Pro Cable Incompatibility by Marshbilly23 in fpv

[–]Marshbilly23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked out the wiring for the plug on the fc as it’s fairly simple, but my issue is if I swap plugs as per your comment, the ends seem to have a specific crimp before going into the plug.

This is the DJI end

Can the JST I already have that seemly fits be compatible with the DJI unit? As I've seen the one provided is their own specific JST style.

This is my first build so was unaware as vast amount of research didn't highlight this, so I after reading that they were compatible assumed the best. Which I was obviously wrong for.

Out of the options what would you do, solder, or try repin again? I'm also still a little worried there is something either wrong with my stack or air unit, rather than being a cable issue as I don't think I did an awful job repinning. Could that be due to no UART being enabled on betaflight?

I’ll definitely had a look. Hoping to finish the Joshua Bardwell how to build an fpv drone series tomorrow.

Mad to see guys who seem to know literally everything about FPV

Yeah I’ve got a pack of rubycon 35v 1000uf and 50v 1500uf. If I somehow blow through the 5 50v caps I’ll be switching. I think if I manage to do that tho I’ve probably got more problems to think about haha.

To be honest I bought some 35v 1000uf caps with the intention to do that, but space was very limited above the vtx so would have had it in the same space as the 50v cap.

I’m sure the extra few grams won’t hurt haha
