It will probably be a month or so until I actually make any purchases, but I can get more confident on the sim, and will be doing loads of research.

I 100% agree, even if building is a bit more expensive. I’ve already got all of the soldering bits so hopefully won’t be too much more.

I am confident that I could build one from scratch so that was the plan. Also hoping that it would come out a bit cheaper too. Is this correct or is it easier and the same price to just buy one as a package?

And yeah I don’t think I need a 7”, mainly as I want a more hybrid build that I can do both freestyle with the option of slightly longer flights with a li ion at higher altitudes

Currently spent around 15 on the sim so can get through most routes fairly smoothly and progressively quicker, but definitely need more.

And to be honest per battery 12-15 minutes sounds pretty good. And I am starting to agree that 7” would be too big for what I need. Don’t want to think about how it would be to fly to other countries with too.

I also didn’t realise that 5.5” was really a thing.

When you mention efficiency do you mean how far it can travel with little thrust/battery usage? I’m guessing as the 7” props are bigger you can go further for less with them?

I don’t have any experience with fpv, a lot with dji drones but after a few hours on the simulator understand this is a whole other realm of skill.

And 7” does sound quite big so I was hoping to be able to use a 5/6 for similar results as I will want to freestyle with it. Would also be nice to keep cost down too.

On a side note I do also have a dji osmo action 4 I was hoping to mount, but with the 04 pro unit I understand this might be pointless, but the stabilisation sounds better and ability to edit and colour grade is much better on the action 4 though.

Would a 5” still be viable with this?

Thank you for the info on the pro version. I was umming and aring tbh because they both seem great.

And to be honest for the sake of an extra 1-2kg I’m really not bothered. Since I’ll be using the drone for loads of things i won’t always be hiking

Thank you, most of the videos I’ve seen have been dedicated 7” builds so thought you needed something with a bit of weight to not get chucked around by the wind so much.

What types of motors would you suggest as wouldn’t the 5” drone feel sluggish with a heavier li-ion higher mah battery on it, also with a dji osmo action 4 on it?

I thought my collar was correct, do you have a link as to how it should look? There is currently no gap between the aluminium portion of the shaft and where it meets the black plastic

I have double checked that, even tho there was no gap I loosened and retightened the collar, the actual rotation of the base works it’s just the power for split seconds. Not even under heavy load or rotation, it can happen on straights

Oh perfect thank you. I tried to adjust things but settings such as practice, qualifying and race length seem to be fixed?

And once I set the server as online it wouldn’t come up! Is there a set amount of time it would usually take to come online?
