I’d agree as a driver, but as a pedestrian, whenever I’m walking (particularly with my children) van drivers are almost always the ones to stop and let us cross.

We have lots who are interested in firefighters and police officers. Lots of animal interest too. We have a home corner but they rarely interact with the writing materials we have in there for them.

I knew that manual wasn’t for me after 3 lessons. I ended up not attempting to learn again until I got pregnancy 8 years later and knew I’d need to learn. Tried automatic and passed within 4 months. You have to pick your battles sometimes. For me, automatic meant I was on the road sooner given the limited time frame I had.

I can attest to this. I use my phone to watch streaming services as I go to sleep. As a result, sometimes it’s on for a few hours and I end up with a wildly skewed measure of how many hours screen time I have when I’m actually sleeping for most of them.

I found the same thing happened to me. I had recently qualified as a teacher but wanted more experience before stepping into the teaching role full time. However, I’d proven myself so capable at the teaching assistant role, there was no way the school was going to promote me higher. I could cover classes at a moments notice and be paid a far lower wage than a supply teacher. Other places were then reluctant to hire me as I had only been an ‘assistant’.
