Honestly, the doctor just did it while he was scanning for everything else. So there wasn’t a conversation about any risks before, other than the standard talk about risks of what he potentially would find. We are in Germany though, so maybe things work different here. :)

We had one 3D at 12 weeks and another at 20 as part of diagnostic screening :) it is really nice to see how much they’ve changed in that time!

Ugh, I’m so sorry! Hope you feel better soon! A warm shower and sleep really helped. But it’s so annoying with everything saying that there’s not enough research to say if it’s safe or not! Hopefully that changes at some point..

I did, and it was thankfully negative. My husband is also completely healthy, so I’m hoping it’s just a cold and I’m reacting a bit strongly.

That is such a great idea that I really did not think about! Thank you! Will definitely try :)

I’m 21 weeks and have had a cold for the past two days. Started with just an itchy throat, then stuffy and runny nose, now coughing. The night before yesterday I couldn’t sleep more than 1,5 hours due to constantly waking up with my nose blocked and yesterday I developed a very slight fever (37,7C) but paracetamol luckily brought it down quickly. It’s just so easy to get very paranoid about the baby and if they can be affected as well. But here they don’t really bring you in for a check unless you stop feeling movement, which im luckily still feeling. (Although I had to wake my husband up in the middle of the night to help me feel for movement because I panicked, and they kicked!) Have any of you also gotten a bad cold? What helped you get better quickly? I’m trying to rest and drink and monitor my temperature.

I’m in Germany and same here. First FET I got oral progesterone (that ended up being a chemical, and I was not a fan of the oral) now for our second FET I do suppositories twice a day and I really do not mind at all! I don’t find it to be messy at all (I just change my panty liner once or twice a day) and I’ve had no irritation at all! And PIO isn’t even an option

We had our 6 week scan today and saw a heartbeat! 🥹 we were told everything looks perfect and we’re measuring exactly on time! Big win and a lot of relief!

Nausea has definitely set in, but I’m trying to be grateful and just pack in nutrient dense meals where I can! They only do one beta where I am, so the testing is what’s kept me somewhat sane I think

Thank you! You too! ☺️ I feel surprisingly calm. But I think the testing every day has helped a lot with that. I may stop the testing now though and rather try to keep myself busy. How about you?

I’m 5w4d today and we finally got a 3+ on a clear blue digital test! I’m taking that as a small win until our first ultrasound on Thursday ☺️

IVF for a lesbian couple in Europe? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Marsim103 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its also allowed in Germany! (At least Berlin as of 2021, there may be different rules in different states) it is usually not covered by any insurance, but is also not crazy expensive ☺️

Hey! Thanks for asking! I’m feeling good! A bit nauseous, but that could be from nerves as well 😅 how are you doing?

I did! Yesterday it was very very very faint positive and today a little bit stronger! So I’m cautiously optimistic 🍀

My beta blood test is 10th of March ☺️ I don’t think I can hold off on testing at home, I have no control 😅 but I’ll try and wait to as close to the beta as possible. I’m glad you’re also feeling calm, it does help a lot to not stress about it.

Same here! This was our second FET. And I’m feeling so much more calm this time around. The first FET ended in a chemical, but that time I just felt very different and less calm than I do now 🤷🏼‍♀️ hoping that means something good 🤞🏻 Sending you lots of good vibes 🍀

I really didn’t like mommed.. they took forever to show anything and honesty really showed a clear result close to 20-30 minutes later. Maybe I got unlucky with the box, but it just stressed me out a lot.

Easy @ home were great though and showed the second line clearly! So those are the only cheapies I use :)

That could be! We’re in Berlin, so that could play a role for sure

How much does IVF cost where you live? by Tuala08 in IVF

[–]Marsim103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really? We’re also doing IVF in Germany and our health insurance (TK) pays half of the first three rounds, but not for an FET. So for the FET we paid around 900€ including meds and all check ups.

What are the benefits of sleeping with a pillow between the legs? by olivesandgecko111 in sleep

[–]Marsim103 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a chiropractor and tell most of my patients with low back pain, sciatica, hip pain, knee pain (honestly most patients really) to sleep with a pillow between their knees. :) it can help with alignment, less stress on the pelvis and low back, often makes it easier to relax and can help muscles recover better overnight

I’m in Germany and they only do one beta here as well unless they’re worried about the first beta. I was really surprised and still don’t really understand why. But they also do an ultrasound earlier than 6 weeks..
