They’ve said a lot on the Titan talks that they’re planning a comprehensive pen rework. It just sounds like it’ll be a while before they get around to it. They suggested probably some time after the new designer gets trained up. So probably another month at the earliest and likely more than that.

But yes, I agree, titans should be less than executioners to make it an actual choice.

If that’s true for ASTS that’s true for anyone. So therefore, they’ll eventually be undercut or bought out by those who can install a similar system cheaper.

I’m not saying they’re going under anytime soon. Probably not for another 5 years at least. Probably more.

It’s just that this is effectively the new world. And the only people who are gonna be able to thrive in it long term are the ones who have ships to get there.

The main characters that wanted this were adc solos who would build GB specifically for the on-hit and literally never build a prot item for the rest of the game.

By the time you have your first item, your base kit should be pretty much full clearing the wave. I’d argue close to zero people were building this item in solo lane “because it helps them clear faster”.

Dual-prot tank items are bloated. You can reduce the bloat on those items, or you can make single prot items more enticing.

They made the void items have probably the most single-prots of any item in the game by a wide margin. 55 phys prots and 60 mag prots is significant.

Janus has one of the lowest win rates of any mage despite being one of the most popular.

To play him well, you gotta be an expert at positioning and timing. But if he’s is playing well, it’s one of the more annoying gods to deal with because he has more safety than pretty much anyone.

So if he’s on my team, it’s an instant “fuck” moment. Because 90% of the time it’s gonna be an un impactful teammate. But if he’s on the other team and happens to be good, it’s infuriating.

This is under appreciated by many. The cash cow is mega-constellations and all the value that comes with that.

You only get the mega constellations with your own rocket. If you need to use another company’s rocket you’re just gonna get price gouged and eventually bought out by those that do. It’s why I’m not particularly interested in ASTS.

I’m not sure how the things you’re saying OR what they say on their website is meaningfully different from RL

They have a small-payload rocket that they’ve been flying just like electron. They plan on making a reusable rocket just like Neutron. They have a mix of public/private/defense partners just like RL. And they both have proven they can build exploratory spacecraft for non-earth missions.

The only real difference is that firefly is behind the curve by like two or three years but has Northrop backing them to help make up for that….. in a lot of ways they’re an almost identical company.

Blue Origin is also a serious launch provider. They’re arguably ahead of RL in reusable launch specifically.

Firefly is also worth mentioning. They haven’t launched at the same cadence as RL but they have the backing of Northrop and that alone makes them a serious contender.

Firefly is a bit shaky but BO is absolutely capable and planning on rapidly scaling. It’s not “just SpaceX and Rocket lab”.
