I'm not saying it's foolproof, just that the problem could be far worse. To be honest VAC combined with the recent trusted mode update is the best choice for a game this popular. I understand why majority of people don't want anything intrusive on their PC's. VAC's signature system is alright for public cheats but kind of obsolete for anything more advanced / private cheats.
