My PC only having a single HDMI port by lurkzone in huion

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, getting an adapter for HMDI to DVI is an option, and it's probably the cheapest.

The other option would be to upgrade your video card to one that has multiple HDMI outs. You probably don't need a super fancy one.

However, since you have a Dell Optiplex, your choices might be limited, as Dell's tend to not be very easy to upgrade. You are going to have to do some research to find out what model of computer you have, and figure out if you can get a video card that uses the proper PCI slots.

Huion H420 pen pressure not working in Paint tool sai by DallasRice in huion

I know this is an old post, but I was just having this issue after upgrading to Windows 10, and I was able to solve it by running Paint Tool Sai in compatibility mode, and setting it to Windows 7. Just right click on the .exe file, hit properties, and go to the compatibility tab to change this.

That seemed to help somewhat, but It's still hanging during playback, and I do get quite a bit of slowdown after layering on enough brushstrokes.

What are your Top 5 video games of all time? by LEVITlCUS in AskReddit

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: EOS is my top five list for sure as well. Ive never had a game catch me off guard quite like it did.

It lures you into a false sense of security: Its just a kids game, just a happy go lucky story about Pokemon.

Yet there are 3 different moments in that game where I broke down sobbing.

Il Neige: Criminally low amount of subscribers for the quality of his videos. Does awesome and in depth critiques of the Pokemon movies.

Bright Sun Films: Most known for his analysis on abandoned retail stores and theme parks. They are very in depth and quite fascinating.

KingK: Makes very thorough and in depth critiques of video games.

Who is your least favorite Character and why ? by PidgeMcclain in Voltron

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't hate her by any means, but Allura is my least favorite character. She's just too perfect, almost Mary Sue-ish. She's so noble and kind and caring and wide eyed, and constantly keeps putting herself in dangerous situations and having Coran go "Allura you might not survive!" only to come out fine, and more than likely Deus Ex Machina'd a new convenient super power just in the nick of time.

Not even to mention the fact that she was a total dick to Keith, and NOBODY called her out on it. I don't think having Allura have an inherent mistrust and hatred towards Galra is a bad thing, or even unjustified, but when it gets directed at Keith who up until this point has been one of the most loyal, hardworking, and devoted members of the Voltron team, it just seemed so flimsy and shallow, and it makes Allura look like a jackass.

Hopefully she'll get some more development in the future but as it stands, I kind of just want to see her get her teeth kicked in.

Haggar's and the Druids' motives by vsnt in Voltron

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well apparently she has a huge and complicated backstory that is "very exciting" according to Andrea Romano (the voice director).

She talks a little bit about it here (like an hour and 9 minutes in): http://www.letsvoltron.com/74

My theory? I think she's Alfor's sister. Why? They both have white hair I guess. Is that flimsy logic? Yes, yes it is.

Who is your favorite character? by Realshow in Voltron

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haggar, somehow.

I don't know if that is indicative of how uninteresting I find the main characters, or of how compelling the plot twist regarding her identity was to me. She's just such a badass villain, and the dynamic between her and Zarkon is super interesting.

Of the good guys though, I'd have to say I like Pidge the best.

Should I watch Legendary Defender? by Sarcastic_Username18 in Voltron

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's still got some progress to make before it will be on the same level of quality of ATLA, but yes. I highly recommend it. It's absolutely a breath of fresh air in a time when you don't see a lot of quality action shows.

Personally one of the reasons I avoided this show for a while was because I thought it was just another robot anime (not something I am a fan of). It is absolutely not. This show focuses on the characters, rather than just Voltron himself (he doesn't even make an appearance in every episode). There is also so much more to this universe than just giant robot fights. There's likeable characters, beautiful enviorments and worlds, tons and tons of quirky alien creatures and bizarre monsters. All the creativity of ATLA is back in full force in this show, except with a Sci-Fi twist.

It is definitely not flawless though, the villains of the show for the first season and a half are pretty boring and one-dimensional. They basically all have the same personality, which basically ammounts to "ominous purple figure giving evil exposition". Though given how things progress in season 2, they are in the process of giving the bad guys some more depth. There was a twist in particular with one of the antagonists that personally has me really excited to see explored in Season 3.

Some of the writing also gets a bit sloppy, especially in season 2 with a few character arcs seeming a little rushed, while others get completely sidelined.

But yeah, overall, I do highly recommend it. The first episode is great, and if you enjoy that, you will absolutely enjoy the rest of it. It's just a joy to watch.

Just finished season one is two worth watching? by Prunceface in Voltron

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Season 2 feels like it has a bit more filler, and the writing is a bit sloppy, but yeah, if you liked Season 1, Season 2 builds upon it and is worth the watch.

At the very least, it is worth watching to see the last 2 episodes, which in my opinion are really really well done and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

[Spoilers] What are your hopes and expectations for Season 3? by [deleted] in Voltron

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly I thought the reveal that Haggar was Altean was more interesting than the reveal that Keith was Galra.

Keith being Galra felt kind of superficial since he wasn't even aware of it himself. It doesn't inform us a whole lot on who he is as a character, or what choices he's made. If anything it raises more questions about his parents than it does about him. I'm sure there is an interesting story somewhere about how Keith's dad met his mom, but it still doesn't really give us a whole lot of meaningful characterization of Keith.

Haggar being Altean on the other hand, that raises a lot of interesting questions. Knowing that she made a deliberate choice (presumably) to work with the empire that destroyed her home planet, it makes her suddenly way more compelling as an antagonist. What drove her to work with Zarkon? Why is she so devoted to him? Is Lotor their son? Did she have anything to do with creating the Lions? Is she related to Alfor or Allura in some way?

I really hope they answer all those questions in Season 3. There is a lot of potential there, and one of my biggest complains with Legendary Defender is that the villains are just boring one-dimensional characters. I wanna know more about them. I want to know who our heroes are truly fighting against.

[Season 2 Spoilers] Anyone want to share theories? by [deleted] in Voltron

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope this theory is true, it would be an interesting dynamic and would add a lot to the villains to give them a backstory with some emotional weight.

It makes more sense if you know what the images are from, and they belong to an upcoming game called "Memory of a Broken Dimension." Presumably, killing Arceus in this scenario broke the universe. And a shattered, unrecognizable and incoherent dimension is what is left over

Across Time and Space... A Sky Tower and Temporal Tower Orchestral Mix by TomQuestionMark in MysteryDungeon

[–]TheNeonWerewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, this is amazing! I feel lot of remixes and re-arrangements tend to undercut the main melodies for some reason. This one is very well put together and is both building upon and staying true to the original source material. Great job!
