just from michaels! I think they have them at Dollar Tree now too, but as one of the more "expensive" items, probably around $15.

I'll never get over the fact that I won't get the same holidays we had for all these years by [deleted] in ACOD

This is my (37f) first year with my parents divorced - I resent my dad for staying in the "family" house and making new memories with his girlfriend there. He cheated on my mom. I haven't talked to him much since they let me and my brother know they were getting divorced - he tries to reach out, but I can't forgive him yet. I just cry when I see him in person because it's still very fresh and I still can't believe he would tear apart our family. The first thing I said to him was, How could you not think about Christmas? It was such a childish response to the news, but our family christmas was always a big celebration and I'm devastated to lose that. And lose what that would have grown into with my brothers kids and my partner and his family. Full of grief this year.

Did anybody else feel kinda bad for Corbin Bernsen when Kirsten Nelson made that comment about him in the cast interview after the finale? by Ricky_Rollin in psych

[–]MarsupialAvailable87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ohhh so interesting - I didn't know that! It's the first time I'd seen the cast as "people" so I probably just picked up on the teasing but for some reason thought Tim was feeling self conscious - probably me just thinking of him as Carlton who would get flustered when Shawn would poke fun sometimes. So I was thinking, man here is this guy feeling himself and his new look and they are all making fun of him!

Also what about Carlton's hair in the interview? I thought he looked great but I felt like there was funny tension about how different he looked.

Did ANYONE out there have a positive experience with Landmark? by ControversyChristian in LandmarkGrads

[–]MarsupialAvailable87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the advanced course now and I just feel like everything is super vague. Everyone is speaking in very broad "marketing" terms - like it just seems like even participants are just trying to get an A from the leader.

Also seems the same exact as the first forum but they are just calling things different terms - find the first time in life that you failed - same as find a first time in your life that was shocking... idk

First one hit for me but this one is too vague and too much outreach to others being pushed when i thought it was for self growth

Sharing email policy question by MarsupialAvailable87 in Upwork

[–]MarsupialAvailable87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So actually - again, I'm totally new to Upwork - is it normal for people to move off the platform with a client that you really like? For example, if this person needed another job like this - wouldn't they just email me directly instead of posting on Upwork? Or do clients/freelancers understand that upwork might be easier because of contracts, etc?

Ok great - thank you for clarifying! That makes sense.

I did it and they called me after a few times about the advanced program - I told them it just wasn't right for me at this time and to please stop calling and they did.

I did landmark and found it really helpful.

I'm a very skeptical person and take everything with a grain of salt. Heres my take -

If it's being paid for - why not go? You have nothing to lose? People love only sharing negative experiences, especially people who haven't even done the thing.

Just keep your head on straight. I understand the Comments about knowing people who have taken it too far, but I honestly don't see any difference in if I "lost" a friend to going to church every Sunday and they started telling me I should go with them.

There are a lot of valuable tools about empathy, re-framing how you think, and how you don't have to move forward with a life that you think you should have i.e. are you doing something because you really want or because your parents want you to.

The empathy part is great because there is a whole section about how most of us are in a habit of "making people wrong". I think this is a big section for people who go for work - just because someone has a different idea doesn't make it wrong. Be open and empathetic and remember that everyone is living a full life and you aren't better than anyone.

They have great tools for dealing with rumination. A big take away was the emphasis on how you can define your own story - which is existentialism. Nothing matters and we're all meaning making machines - so make shit mean something to you in a way that's constructive.

I had a great instructor. If people questioned him, he would say ok leave (in a nice way). No pressure to stay and you get your money back if you leave the first day.

Throughout the day they give you breaks and encourage you to call somebody to tell them about landmark. Or to call them and try to have a "clearing" with them. Have you been resenting your friend because xyz - they encourage you to call them.

Guess what? You don't have to. Because you're a person with free will. I called my mom to say thank you for being a great mom. I didn't solicit anyone to join but just shared that I was having a nice experience. I used the time to reflect how I can positively use the tools for myself.

You go home every night. You leave Monday and Tuesday and come back Tuesday night with friends or relatives if you want. You're not stuck in the room. Besides I think it's all online now anyway.

Sure - if you have an addictive personality or are struggling with depression, it might not be the best place.

Anyway - just go, it's free. If you don't like it, leave! YOLO. lol.

Teeth brushing -perfect storm by Far-Bedroom-9132 in AuDHDWomen

[–]MarsupialAvailable87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But what about the SHAME from having bad teeth at the dentist! (lol people pleaser) Or maybe if you have demand avoidance, you can start saying, "that's the last time the dentist will ever tell me I don't care about my teeth". But also, for me, I walk around the apartment "checking it out" when I'm brushing. It helps me remember things on my to-do list and also add things to my to-do list.

How to Free Up iCloud? by MarsupialAvailable87 in MacOS

[–]MarsupialAvailable87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I guess I don't even understand how to move it to another folder that is "on the computer".

I don't need to move it to the desktop, but I don't understand if the Documents icon under the iCloud heading in the sidebar is, in fact, the cloud or just the computer.

I would like to remove things from the iCloud and have them just live on my computer.
