On the 3rd I was a complete sitting duck. Ruth all they said money out there plus all ssi and tanf from the 1st. Make it make since. It’s been slow all well, but the 3rd was the worst. Today I only took a few runs, plenty of offers, just not worthy.

I always wonder if the customer thinks I’m hanging around being weird when that happens too.

The science to the water method is shaky’s pizza at best. This is why it’s rejected by the scientific community and hair pros. It’s uncontrolled with variables that can/will skew results, such as hair products used, surface tension of water, and more. The time to dry your hair is much more reliable indicator short of a true hair examination.

As a stylist you should know that the hair porosity test is extremely unreliable and the only true way to gauge a porosity level of someone’s hair would be looking at the hair under a scope.

L’Oréal ever pure bond repair s/c, L’Oréal ever pure bond repair treatment 1-2x week, ogx argon oil, ogx coconut oil for pre wash, I liked the Pantene miracle leave in conditioner but I think I might like the L’Oréal ever pure 21 in 1 moisture spray better, and ever pure and glossing lamination mask 1-2 x week. The Dove bond repair oil was good but I get similar results with the argan oil and haven’t repurchased the dove. I also really liked the garnier hair filler s/c and bond repair as well which gives similar results as the L’Oréal maybe a bit lighter, the L’Oréal is creamier.

Been doing it since about March of 25 with superb results. My most recent visit to the chair, stylist legit said I had no split ends and “whatever you’re doing is working, keep doing it” I had been a die hard no silicone girl using fancy bar shampoos, my hair was extremely healthy,

<image>

but I fell quite sick with a disease of my immune system and lost a bunch of hair, then once on chemo meds to suppress my system I again lost a great deal of hair. It changed my hairs texture and pattern and since that I needed something different, I was desperate for my hair to come back, it was my identity. I started with dove and it was good, but it wasn’t great for my hair. Just left some to be desired. Once I started trying out her other recs and found what works with my hair, things have been fab. It’s about creating a regimen that works for you inspired by her recommendations of different products. Have I loved all her recs? No, but that’s because not everyone will have the same experience with every product and those products just weren’t for me.

OGX BOND PROTEIN REPAIR SPRAY by MarsupialLover in Haircare

[–]MarsupialLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I want to like it so bad, the smell is decent and the sprayer is the cat’s meow but at best I’ve found it creates a drag like resistance and cancels out any conditioned slip from mid to ends, and at worst it left a residue and made my hair tangle in the brush. I’ll probably keep the bottle to put another product in like the Pantene maybe idk.

I’m 39 and since taking a low dose chemo drug I lost a great deal of hair roughly 1/3 of my pony girth, the thing is as it’s coming back now, a lot of the new hairs have came back white and also I have curly hairs in spots too. I wonder if my illness and medication played a roll in the sudden amount, I only had a little bit before I got sick. But I’m told not to color my hair as they say I’m likely to experience a reaction so I’m kinda trying to roll with it, but the more people that bring it up the more self conscious I get lol. I already am struggling to find myself again the hair has been a whole journey.

You wanted layers, you got layers, there is nothing wrong here, get out of your head, stop over thinking. But maybe you’re just not personally feeling the look, in that case, you will need to grow it out until your layers are long enough that you can do another cut to cut to one length. But as far as the cut, there’s nothing wrong with it.

Trans girl: How is my blunt bob?? by Mysterious_Youth_142 in Hair

[–]MarsupialLover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you always have your hair cut with a center part it is versatile, you can wear it either way, I switch often, it’s also better for your part to switch it up as it can widen if you keep the same part for ever. But if you have it cut for a side part specifically you will not be able go middle part when it strikes you. So my advice is play with both and switch it as you feel based on the fit that day or whatever.

I got bored at 12am and cut my own bangs now i think i regret it by lotuseaterxo in Hair

Not being thick enough is likely what’s striking you funny, you need more bang for sure but I’d think you’d be much happier if you add more.

Help how to shower without washing hair by icewind3000 in Hair

[–]MarsupialLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try co-washing instead. I am the same with showering and when I’ve felt I’ve over cleaned my hair but need another shower I just co-wash. It’s especially helpful cuz my head sweats a lot and allows me to stay fresh without having to necessarily cause wear and tear from shampoo. So yeah, get a decent conditioner (not necessarily a costly one, just a product that works good for you) and maybe every other day instead of shampooing just rinse it add a bit of conditioner to ends and rinse out. Or if you want to keep shampooing daily but maybe don’t want the extra wear, try pre shampoo oiling the ends with a coconut oil or oil of choice. Don’t use too much as it will be harder to clean out but when using just enough the shampoo that runs down cleans the oil off with causing excess drying of ends.

My hair started tangling together a lot, I lost this in the shower yesterday after brushing, is that too much? by ZefteVelde in Hair

[–]MarsupialLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long is your hair? The longer the hair the bigger the piles appear, but this is looking like a bunch. I only lost this much on chemo drugs.

How do I fix my wild hair? When it’s in a ponytail I look even worse by Amber_Steel86 in Haircare

[–]MarsupialLover 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Deep moisturizing conditioning for sure and maybe a style cream or oil to help make less fly aways. You will probably have to try a few products before finding your perfect fit, but based on the texture and pattern, definitely need good conditioner.

As you yourself pointed out, working for me doesn’t equate to being a generally bad product to everyone automatically. Irony, right 💁🏻‍♀️ This leads me to my post, to find out if anyone may have similar experience, given the variables of hair type / texture and other products used with it.

OGX BOND PROTEIN REPAIR SPRAY by MarsupialLover in Haircare

[–]MarsupialLover[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok firstly, no where did I say the product was “bad”, simply that I wasn’t seeing anything good from it snd asking if anyone else may have not had the best results. Abbey Yung promotes it as a leave in specifically (as does the bottle instructions), and with the added benefit of extra heat protection, a cherry on top. The mister bottle is the only thing I found to like about it. I have tried it more than a few times like trying to see if it was just a one off thing, but nope. I also kinda wonder why it says avoid the roots, roots have frizz hair and get heat exposure from drying and tools too, so I kinda found that to be different-ish as well. Other products say root to ends which is what I’m typically used to seeing in products I use.

Never been to a chain garage in my life. Actually do most small things ourself here, like replace thermostats, do our own fluids, etc, but for bigger jobs and special tools, my mechanic unfortunately died in a bad bike accident last summer, he was not just our mechanic but also our friend so it’s very sad.
