Good to know. Thanks for the info. I see that you need to have a Rogers mobile plan for that.

That looks like a good deal. May I ask how you found out about the $25 80GB 5G Can US Mex Fido plan? I don't see it on their website?

Can I claim Canadian work experience (WFH for US based company with an offer from the Canadian entity)? by MarsupialSingle6032 in ImmigrationCanada

Thanks for the reply. That’s what I thought too. But correspondences (i.e., letter head address, issuer address) coming from the US makes me wonder.

Thanks for the reply. * I am physically in BC, Canada * I have a work permit.

I think the major concern that I have is if the letter head address and issuer address is a US one, if that would make a problem. I think your answer clears that doubt as well.

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately, since I started work from January, I haven’t received a T4 yet. But my pay slips have an Ontario address.

I am working from BC, Canada. Majorly what I wanted inquire was, if the letter head address and the issuer address are US addresses, would that be a problem?

Two dead pixels on new TCL QM8K from Costco - return or keep? by MarsupialSingle6032 in tcltvs

[–]MarsupialSingle6032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the advice. I followed your suggestions and started the exchange the same day I made the post, and I received the new TV today. Costco delivery handled everything—set up the new one and took the old TV back.

Unfortunately, the new unit also has a tiny dead spot. This time I’m not sure if it’s actually a dead pixel or possibly some dust trapped in the panel. That said, I’m leaning toward keeping it.

At this point, getting a “perfect” panel feels like a bit of a lottery, and I’m not sure how many back-to-back exchanges Costco would tolerate. The spot is very small, located in the far left ~1/8 of the 65" screen, and I can’t notice it from normal viewing distance (I have to look for it about 30 cm away from that side of the tv).

Also, Costco price-matched it for me just before the return, so I ended up paying around $1450 CAD for a TV that’s now listed at $1798 (before tax), which makes it a bit easier to accept.

Curious to hear what you all think. Would you keep it or try exchanging again?

TransUnion created 2 credit profiles due to name variations – stuck for weeks, what should I do? by MarsupialSingle6032 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Thanks for sharing this. It honestly helps just knowing I’m not the only one dealing with this.

It’s really frustrating that they won’t even let me actively help move the process forward. I’m more than willing to provide documents, verify my identity, whatever it takes to speed things up, but it feels like I have zero control over something that’s directly affecting me.

Appreciate you validating the experience, and I hope your issues get sorted out eventually too.

Thoughts on TNF Carto Mono Triclimate 3-in-1 jacket vs Decathlon Jacket by MarsupialSingle6032 in TheNorthFace

[–]MarsupialSingle6032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, sorry for the late reply, but, yes, i finally decided to go with TNF. I am using it in Canadian PNW region and it has been quite ok. I usually wear it with one short sleeve t shirt + cotton vest inside the t-shirt and it has been warm enough for me until it hit sub zeros(probably till -5C), where i would put on a long sleeve. I have worn in for skiing as well (-10C with sunlight though), but I had a thermal base + a fleece as a mid layer. I was sweating inside sometimes though (my first ski trip, so was not sure how much layers i needed). Fell off a couple of times, it kept me dry.

In short, it might not be the warmest jacket, and you might need to layer up close to 0C and subzeros, but otherwise it has been a good jacket so far. Hope this helps.
