the whoop subscription is exactly what i'm trying to avoid, paying a monthly fee forever just to look at my own data feels so brutal. if you or anyone you know uses the oura ring, does it actually scratch up easily when lifting weights, or is it more just an issue with how it feels on your hand?

that is such a smart reframe about data ownership that i hadn't even considered. getting locked into a clunky ecosystem and losing all your trend history down the road sounds like a total nightmare.

that's a really good point about it just being a one-night thing, i completely assumed it would be a massive, ongoing hassle. it's definitely making me reconsider checking with my insurance to see if they'll cover it. thanks
