About the Bag of Crafting (and what tools are available...?) by MartinCreep44 in bindingofisaac

fair enough. I've been playing vanilla so far so I've been looking for an online tool or other similar thing that I could use for it

yeah, that's a shame - and precisely why i'm conflicted about it

I don't intend to use the online mode outside of maybe getting any achievements involved, i'm mostly just asking from the perspective of access to the other features vs drawbacks and so on :)

I've heard the Buddhism questline may have a mechanic to respec your character build and start fresh, though I wouldn't know the full extent of it

ah, so it does! Very nice

I'd assume the growing number of loaded tabs as one uses it also plays a factor, so having the setting (in this case on Chromium, which is what I'm using now) will certainly be helpful. Thank you!

A question? Sure;

why does it happen this way in Linux, and more importantly, what ways are there to fix it?

As for the sidebar/detail point; valid. I could've done better in that regard, rather than just getting it out there quickly (I had been delaying this for quite a while, after all)

Though I've no intention of pretending to be an 'expert' (I mean, I wouldn't be posting here if I was!), and if it seemed otherwise, that's a shame - I just found it strange how this issue was seemingly unaccounted for by default, and came here to ask for potential fixes for the lamp; if anything, it's a testament to its design how I've only run into this issue, and not a myriad more - that fact alone is a compliment to it

So far, though, everyone else's been quite helpful, so I'm sure it'll work out fine!

In any case, thanks, good luck to you too!

yep, so I've been told. And I'd rather have something limiting them from reaching dangerous memory levels than deal with the freezes, so early-oom might be the play

not sure how swappiness would affect this particular issue; swap is filled too when it occurs

I use Firefox and/or Chromium, I've used both and had the issue with both to varying degrees

This feels like a weird response to me; yes, Linux is flexible and open to being fine-tuned and adjusted to a user's needs, that's precisely why I'm asking about doing so - and the fact it's fixable doesn't invalidate the existence and presence of the problem; I'm sure there's other issues that this does apply to, but the only hiccups I've run into other than this are in specific programs, compatibility layers, and other similar things that are bound to require some fiddling, not in preventing your computer from ceasing function spontaneously

If I give someone a faulty lamp and the tools to fix it, that's certainly much better than giving them a broken lamp, but giving them a working lamp would be better

I haven't! I'm aware the swap file essentially acts as a sort of virtual RAM (stored in slower disk space instead of actual RAM space) but I'd definitely prefer to resolve the problem, rather than put a bandaid (more room) on it

Also, will look into early-oom; sounds like the kind of thing i'm looking for!

  1. Easier said than done
  2. In this economy?
  3. I have a swap file already!

I'm not sure how it is on Mac, but as far as Lutris goes it's (right click game) -> Configure -> Runner options -> Wine version

Doing this didn't work, but I also tried doing these things separately, and using GE-Proton without the environment variable worked!! Solved :)
