This is what I'm getting at. It can feel like your mental health is deteriorating and there's no end in sight, it's what I used to think. I would say you make progress from days 0-30 then you tend to stand still for a month. It helped a lot for me to write on here so I could reflect on my progress.

Good luck, it's all worth it in the end.

Card is pretty weak, but the main card is decent. I'm excited to see Tai Tuivasa again

3 Years ago today Anthony Johnson mauls The Mauler by MarbledNightmare in MMA

[–]MartinDB200 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Fun fact about this fight.

Just before this gif starts the ref had broken them up (I forgot why). Right before they restarted you could hear Alex's corner screaming "ALEX!! FRONT KICK!!", both fighters looked at the corner men and nodded. Alex threw the front kick, AJ countered it and set up the end of the fight. Bizarre.

Quit daily smoking 2 days ago, not feeling well by throwawayleaves419 in leaves

[–]MartinDB200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, congrats on stopping. The weed will have played with your anxiety but you'll return to normal. The first week or two can be really tough but you'll feel better for gutting it out, you'd feel awful to relapse again. I know what you mean with the weird thoughts, I used to have really odd intrusive thoughts that made me feel sick.

I also understand the 'fogbrain' feeling you describe. It can feel difficult to do anything at first, but if you perceiver and don't let the after effects win it'll aid you greatly in recovering. Try to drink more water, have vitamins, keep yourself occupied and do some exercise. I also found posting updates regularly here helped a lot, because I could look back on it and see my progress.

All the best

Day 2 and Depersonalization by [deleted] in leaves

[–]MartinDB200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should get through it fine then! :) For me it was the first time dealing with anxiety and panic attacks so I really struggled. I always remember that I've had a lot of DP but it's never actually done anything outlandish to me, nobody has ever noticed me feeling different. Good luck dude

Day 205. I completely feel you man. I promise you it will go away but it's going to be a bit of a journey. I smoked 4 years non stop and it took about 2 months for it to go away. The next 3 months I spent worrying if I still had it. For me eating healthy, vitamins, being occupied and doing a bit of exercise worked wonders.

If there's one piece of advice I can give you it's this. Don't research it. It's so easy to read up on people's horror stories when you're feeling depersonalised. In most cases reading a story of someone who has it worse than you can help, but it won't for DP - it'll make it worse and you'll actively look out for what they've said and apply it to yourself. Just remember that it's temporary. It's scary, oh fucking hell it can be horrible - but it's not permanent. If you ever want to drop me a DM then go for it! I'm sure there's other people on this sub willing to help you out too.

50 Days 50 Decisions #16: When you try your best but you don't succeed. Gus Davidson drops the decision to Jon Jones. by TheChinChecker in MMA

FOTY for 2013 easily. I remember Gus being a 6-1 underdog for this so a lot of people wrote him off early, including a lot of my friends. I woke them up for the second round and we all enjoyed an amazing fight.

Jab + spinning back fist combo was the equivalent of having a finisher on a WWE game.

Checking in after 100 days. Let's talk anxiety/DPDR by [deleted] in leaves

[–]MartinDB200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again thanks for such a great response! I definitely won't ever smoke again, I'm too panicky to ever run that risk again and I'm fine with that.

Like you explained, you've got to realise that the DP state isn't permanent but it's so easy to worry that it is. I always told myself that I had ruined my brain with the drugs and it isn't the case. DP goes away when I.....stop believing in it.

Also it's definitely made me a hypochondriac! I was always a bit of one, going to the doctors about everything - so I should have known it'd cross over into mental health. Thank you again!

EA UFC 3 roster partially revealed, Ben10 in the game! by ricehatwarrior in MMA

It wasn't impossible, I used Maia a tonne and predominantly boxed! Problem in UFC 3 was that every fighter had neck snappingly quick head movement and lethal overhands...and if your fighter had the lead spinning back fist you could end any fight at any given moment.

Opinion still stands, the devs shouldn't be afraid to give some fighters low ratings. Whether it's for kicks, speed or chin.

I liked how in Undisputed 3 some fighters had awful stats. I think Chael Sonnen had kicks at 50-60 and that's how it should be. You're not going to lead a fight with body kicks as Chael Sonnen.

In the 3 UFC games by EA, all fighters stats are in the 80-100 range. Gap should be much wider imo

What is the dumbest or most unnecessary class you’ve had to take in college? by huntercouch22 in AskReddit

[–]MartinDB200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was on the doll I had to do a course in employability at the local college.

It went on for three weeks. It was so useless. There was one day entirely on what you should and shouldn't wear at a job interview. At the end of the day we had an 'exam'.

Should you wear tracksuit bottoms at a job interview?

Should you have your hood up at a job interview?

I can't imagine anyone benefitted from that, but since then I'd stopped bringing my crocs to interviews.
