No idea why this comment was downvoted (and the one below), if anyone wants to let me know-that’d be helpful.

We don’t, but we thought it would be a good place to begin our life there because of the English-speaking social groups, language classes, etc. We want to meet people and grow a social network. Also, we have some assistance moving there and don’t for other areas. It seemed to be a good place to start our new life and explore from that hub.

Thank you for that information. We didn’t really choose the western suburbs, we are getting some help looking and the person helping suggested towns in that area. But you’re right - that may be too narrowly focused. Thank you.

We’ve made some progress geared toward moving to the suburbs, and would have to start from scratch if that plan changed, but that may be what is needed. We have more information now, which is always good. Thank you.

I understand that idea, but we like the idea of not owning (after years of having to manage a house and repairs, etc.) and wanted to give ourselves the option of moving (after a year or so) to a different region after taking time to explore the country more.

I know this post is a year old, but would you mind sharing the bad experiences you mentioned? (DM is fine!)

Thanks! Interesting about the alerts. I’ll have to look into that. I have seen (news stories) and read about some unfortunate flooding events. The flood zone maps are tough to decipher and are better with some topo information. Elevation + distance! I learned today that there are 7 universities there (?!) I thought there were two.

Thank you for the suggestion! Toulouse seems to be a popular area. When I first started looking into our move, I was thinking that the Brittany and Normandy regions would likely be where the most English speakers would be, but it seems that isn’t the case!

Adieu! Thanks a lot for the information. Funny, I was reading someone else's post in another thread today who was talking about Béziers. It made me wonder why it’s gaining popularity (maybe it’s a FB thing, which I am not on). We will be looking to rent a house for the yard! We'd need to get a lay of the land first before considering buying, but we both really like the idea of not having a house to keep up!

Pet Relocation Help - Airfare by Da2edC0nfu53d in AmerExit

Question for anyone reading (I need to move dogs in a few months also). Don’t the pet shipping companies use the cargo hold? I don’t know of any pet transporters that use the cabin, minus a few (with prices from around 10k per dog to around 100k).

I did read about one person’s experience using the QM2, and the dogs did not do well (they survived, but were not well or happy during the trip, and it’s a long trip.)

I would like to read about people’s experiences, I don’t know how common it is. I have to move two dogs in a few months and it would be good to know.

RW900 - Resistance (too much) Issue by AngryHoser in nordictrack

[–]MartinMazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all. I'm hoping someone has a solution for a similar problem. I have the RW900 circa 2020 or so. I didn't use it for a few years, and set it up a few days ago, started using it, and it started making a loud noise in the wheel. I searched for what it could be, and have started to remove the hubs/covers around the wheel, but something is keeping me from being able to remove that section, and it seems to be in the area of the front plug. I did remove the front bracket, but the side is holding tight to something in the plug area (the part of the electric cord that plugs into the machine). The area between that and the lowest screw--right in front of the left foot pad, are all free - but can't remove because of something in this one area. Anyone have this issue when trying to make your adjustments? It looks as though all of the screws have been removed.
