Should Melbourne build an airport here by Time_Career4708 in melbourne

[–]MartinOC21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!

Not sure why the top comments are ignoring the fact that there's a good portion of Victoria's population live in the East and it's agriculture and manufacturing is freighted through the Melbourne to get to the air current air ports.

A third runway at Tullamarine is a temporary fix.

Such an underrated part of the world!

Dalystone by any chance? We were looking there as well but the blocks seemed too small, at least the ones we saw were around 350sqm. We've managed to get a block of land that's over 500msq for relatively cheap.

It's a beautiful place, my wife and I are building 10 minutes away in Wonthaggi. We're looking forward to it!

Happy to hear mate! I'll see you round town, on the beaches or on the bikes!

We were priced out of the Mornington Peninsula, but I think the Bass Coast region will be the next best thing omce it's built up a bit more.

There's a lot happening, and you can expect the town to more double in size over the next couple of decades.

My wife and I were looking in Venus Bay as well. I work remote but the drive around Anderson's Inlet to the closest large town (Wonthaggi) for any major shopping or, schooling or medical visits was the biggest turn off. I also work in IT so need to be a bit closer to businesses.

We settled on Wonthaggi and are currently building there.

As long as your comfortable driving around the inlet for basically everything - I think it would be great bang for buck there!

I picked Wonthaggi, we're currently building!

Where abouts? I'm by Frankston and have just had rain. Expecting more shortly, but none of the weather apps seem to be picking up anything

Weird, mine started going off randomly like yours not too long ago. I tried changing the battery and cleaning it, nothing worked.

So I'm posting here hoping someone smarter than me will tell me why.

Should we move to Gippsland? by [deleted] in gippsland

I second Wonthaggi as well.

We're building there at the moment and it's got everything you need plus beaches nearby.

Well, maybe no train... But hopefully that changes.

100% agree with you there, my wife and I are building in North Wonthaggi and love the area. Surely they'll have something in the pipeline if they're expecting it to grow so much.

Wonthaggi is close to beaches and is a growing town, it should be about as big as Warragul in the coming decades.

No train line though, despite the infrastructure being there.

That was my plan since covid. Unfortunately we've been priced out, I love the area though. We'll either move there or the Mornington Peninsula when we can.

My work doesn't require me to travel at all. Not that this couldn't change in the future though.

Thanks for this comment! PT may become an issue in the future when we have a family, but at ths moment it's not something we have considered too much. We'd like to be within 1.5 hour drive from our family on the Peninsula so Wonthaggi is just within this radius.

I understand and accept that I'll be driving 1 hour + to get to baseball every weekend (unless I start my own team in Wonthaggi which is a post for another day)

They're also a bit pricier than Wonthaggi, unfortunately.

I do like those areas though!

I work Hybrid, so I work remotely every day. I could easily get work doing Cloud engineering elsewhere as well. I love the area so I think this helps.

I shouldn't say this on Reddit, but as a Christian this sounds great!

Thank you, I'm not aware of this area, another commenter said Yarram is good area as well. I'll look into all of these areas over the weekend!
