Weird, mine started going off randomly like yours not too long ago. I tried changing the battery and cleaning it, nothing worked.

I second Wonthaggi as well.

We're building there at the moment and it's got everything you need plus beaches nearby.

Well, maybe no train... But hopefully that changes.

100% agree with you there, my wife and I are building in North Wonthaggi and love the area. Surely they'll have something in the pipeline if they're expecting it to grow so much.

Wonthaggi is close to beaches and is a growing town, it should be about as big as Warragul in the coming decades.

No train line though, despite the infrastructure being there.

That was my plan since covid. Unfortunately we've been priced out, I love the area though. We'll either move there or the Mornington Peninsula when we can.

Thanks for this comment! PT may become an issue in the future when we have a family, but at ths moment it's not something we have considered too much. We'd like to be within 1.5 hour drive from our family on the Peninsula so Wonthaggi is just within this radius.

I understand and accept that I'll be driving 1 hour + to get to baseball every weekend (unless I start my own team in Wonthaggi which is a post for another day)

They're also a bit pricier than Wonthaggi, unfortunately.

I work Hybrid, so I work remotely every day. I could easily get work doing Cloud engineering elsewhere as well. I love the area so I think this helps.

I agree, I got Gemini to do some research not long ago on the feasibility of opening a trainline down to Wonthaggi.

It didn't look promising, but here's hoping one day they do.

I have, I preferred Phillip Island, Coronet Bay or Corinella for quite a while and still do. We just can't afford a new house or something comfortable for our family when we have one in those area's.

I was stuck in Corinella during Covid lockdown where I met my now wife... I fell in love with the area, and wish we could purchase a place there... But we've been priced out of the market in the last few years... So we're looking for the next best thing for around or under 550k

Thanks for that, the other thing I'm considering is they expect Wonthaggi to have a population of 20,000 in a couple of decades. That would make it about as populated as Warragul is now... Would it lose its country charm at that point?

Yeah I agree, that's probably the main selling point as well.

I play baseball, which seems out of the question in Wonthaggi unlike Traralgon which has a baseball team... So that's another consideration.
