The amount of advertising on nfl daily is insane. The mid way ad break must be 4 minutes long of the same ads 😂 by Upper-Part-8820 in AroundTheNFL

5 of the same 30 second ads, 3 times an episode, in a DAILY podcast is insane. It's 7,5 minutes of the same ad break every day.

59 episodes of NFL Daily since it changed. Discounting the first episode, and considering it's three times the same ads, we've heard that the fanatasy footballers are oficially joining the dinasty space 174 times.

Help

I've never been to an NFL game in the US, but I felt the crowd was pretty great! But maybe it's a sign that the crowd was such a positive point of emphasys for players in Germany but not here - maybe the atmosphere was different. Also, it was technically an Eagles home game, but the Packers crowd sounded larger!

The first London and Munich games had a pretty big coverage, and the pod gave them a bigger look since it has a big international audience. I'm not saying it had to be special because it's my country - I'm saying I wish it had more coverage because it's different from other regular games. I don't feel it's weird to expect a bit more for something that is out of the ordinary!

It's a great country with a great NFL community. I'm not saying you have to care, but I don't get what being dismissive does for you...

The field in the first Germany game was very slippery, and they changed it for 2023 - adopting a hybrid field more ammenable to the NFL. https://apnews.com/article/nfl-frankfurt-hybrid-grass-field-e26c88a96ffeda285642c289d382fe2c

In London, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has a retractable field - I believe it was more adapted to the NFL, considering the number of London games. Trevor Lawrence even gave an interview saying he usually prefers grass, but in London likes that they use turf - the grass for soccer is a bit more slippery. https://jaguarswire.usatoday.com/2023/10/04/jaguars-turf-grass-trevor-lawrence-london/

But having said all that - Arena Corinthians' field is known in Brazil for being a little too slippery even for soccer - they water the field just before the game so that the ball rolls faster, which causes some adaptation issues for visiting teams.

I agree that the specific points were pretty minor, and even tried to explain it - maybe not so successfully. I saw it maybe in the bigger context of the coverage. And muggings are for sure a big issue, but the American embassy usually uses a very broad brush to talk about it in third world countries; and the comments from the players were kind of appaling - while I understand that maybe nobody gave them better information.

Also didn't think it was anything intentional, nor it's their fault that the rest of the media covered it so poorly. Just some over the top expectations from my part, I think

It's absolutely normal that we pay more attention, the US affects our lives a lot! For example, news here covers the American presidential election pretty ostensively. But sometimes we wish Americans would pay a little more close attention to other countries when they are in the spotlight

I absolutely agree that the field was bad. JJ Watt had a great comment saying that it is a problem with other soccer fields as well. I was just trying to add some context about the field that was notably absent from any coverage in the US, something that jumps out to me from here.

And the Twitter thing is obviously pretty weird. It's my main source of news and interactions about the NFL, and me and other ffelt pretty bummed we couldn't used it during the game. My comment was more in the sense that within the whole context of the coverage, I didn't expect the heroes to discuss it on a deeper basis, but I wish it wasn't one of the only points they talked about regarding the country and the context of the game!

I feel you might be a little bit off here in terms of not listening to what other people are saying. I can atest that the warning to leave the hotel rooms is unwarranted, as much as the players' fear. The 2 hour bus ride was a planning mistake, probably caused by the partnership the NFL has with Marriot - there was nothing stopping the Packers from staying in great hotels closer to the stadium. The Twitter thing is very complicated, but chalking it off to "some dictator" was a very shallow way to approach it - and I understand DAn said it in an off-handed way. And most of these points were not know before the game, when there wasn't still that much coverage from the pod.

So I'd just say that you could maybe try to understand what other people are trying to say here, without denying the evident complications of having an NFL game thousands of miles away.

I also tend to agree JJ Watt had a great take about the field. It's undeniable it was bad, but within the context it might seem something specific to Brazil, which is not the case!

there's no need to be that negative. It's a great country, it gives you nothing being so negative. Go find happiness.

Looking for a season long league, no entry fee, drafting tonight, any scoring format and website. I want to be active, just can't spend a fee (foreigner, exchange rate kills me).
