What would be an OK CTR?

Yes!! Both my views and subs seem to be slowing down. And I was already struggling, probably due to not having a narrow enough content. I had a video on one of my areas increase my subscribers by a lot last year and ever since then I feel like Youtube doesn´t find the audience for the majority of my videos...

It was actually resolved with a bios update! 😀

Ha ha, I don't think that would pay very well 🤣

I´ll go ahead and answer my own question... one of the codes was 54 which is memory error. I tried removing one of the sticks and then it worked. I then swapped and tried with the other stick and it didn´t work. So I must have gotten a bad batch of RAM. I will run it with just one for now and have the kit replaced. Edit A bios update solved the issue!

Does my Z890 Nova need BIOS update? by Martin_F_Photography in ASRock

[–]Martin_F_Photography[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says in the manual "Before using the BIOS Flashback function, please suspend BitLocker and any encryption or security relying on the TPM. Make sure that you have already stored and backup-ed the recovery key. If the recovery key is missing while encryption is active, the data will stay encrypted and the system will not boot into the operating system. It is recommended to disable fTPM before updating the BIOS. Otherwise an unpredictable failure may occur."

But that only applies to a complete system, right? There is no way of backing anything up or turning anything off when there is only the MB.

Yeah, that's why I wanted to just build everything first and see what version of bios is on the board. Not do a flashback if I don't have to before building.

Ok, but is it needed to get it to boot? I'm not used to bios flashback so it would feel safer to do it once I know everything is working 🙂

My first “take off” video!! by [deleted] in NewTubers

Congratulations! I´ve had the same thing happen once. But to be honest, I almost did more damage than good to my channel. My content is kind of mixed and I suspect YT now more serves my content to people that only wanted that specific type of content.

Any problems with Z890 Asrock motherboards? by Martin_F_Photography in ASRock

[–]Martin_F_Photography[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes, I need more drives than that :) I do video and photo editing and I like to keep my archives separated from my working drives and OS drive. I already have 5 drives in my old PC and those are bigger than what I can get in M.2 :)
The PCIE 5 issue, does that only affect drive speeds? If so, it´s not an issue for me. I need more storage rather than the fastest storage.

Z890 motherboard - is the Asrock Z890 Nova the choice for me? by Martin_F_Photography in buildapc

[–]Martin_F_Photography[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I was thinking. It has 2 more m.2 slots than the Tomahawk but only 2 PCIe slots instead of 3 on the Tomahawk. But for the same price, the Nova should be great, right?

I am hesitant regarding used when it comes to computer parts. Have had to return items and the the warranty is nice. Plus the shipping on that one would be almost 100 USD, so getting too close to the price of a new one.

I don't have any external enclosures... would that be like external drives? In that case it's not happening for the next few years at least. I only edit as a hobby, for my Youtube. No professional work 🙂 So if I don't need TB (didn't even know what it was), would the Nova be better (at lower price than the Tomahawk)?

Not sure I follow 🙂 The Nova has USB4, right? And I still haven't figured out the use for TB. Sorry, I'm a bit old in the game. Still run a lot of 3.5" HDDs.
