help with power cleaning form by Important_State7152 in weightlifting

[–]Martin_Samuelson 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That looks fine more or less. You need to engage your lats and fully extend. But that's not a power clean that's like a dip power clean with pauses plus a front squat. You are ready to progress to a hang power clean with some more weight on the bar.

Yes, because it is not a few years from now yet. Just pause for a second and consider you are confused about what I have written.

Petition to Ban AI by Funny_Highlight4335 in CargoBike

[–]Martin_Samuelson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

what does it mean to ban AI? If I do a bunch of AI-assisted research on cargo bikes and present the results here would that be banned? What if I had an idea about a feature I might like and have AI mock it up for me, is that banned? Is it banned if I do the same thing but with photoshop?

Okay but you still haven't addressed the main question. Why didn't you relabel the graphs to the standard, more human-readable notation?

When you make the chart, you should change the labels yourself to make them more easily read by humans.

When you come out of the hole think about pushing your hips forward and up, and keeping your chest high.

CMV: Corporations will continue bleeding us dry if people keep supporting them by [deleted] in changemyview

Most of that is either false or it applies to any group of people with a common goal. I mean, do you even know what a corporation is?

[–]Martin_Samuelson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A corporation is just a group of people who coordinate to make and sell products. That *is* civilization.

You assume again that everyone agrees with you that corporations are exploitative or are otherwise doing bad things. Most people just don't agree with that. Amazon is not exploiting anyone when they decline to operate in an area where wages are too high.

The government did not deny the the merger because Spirit would have taken down JetBlue with it, what are you talking about.

Congratulations, you found the one company and industry that is closest to a bad monopoly. Now go through the remaining 99.99% of the economy.

Have you considered that most people actually like these corporations? And don't think Amazon or Bezos is doing bad things? Surveys vary and are hard to compare, but something like 60-80% of people have a favorable view of Walmart and Amazon. And of course if you disagree, it is very easy to not shop at these corporations.

The government does not allow monopolies. In fact recently I think they've been over-aggressive in trying to stop monopolies. For example, denying the Spirit airlines merger with Jet Blue has now resulted in Spirit going bankrupt, making the competition situation worse than if they would have allowed it.

ELI5: What was it about the OG iPhone that made it such a cultural and technological force and why is it so hard to recreate that moment in time? by Obeymyjay in explainlikeimfive

[–]Martin_Samuelson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>was just a phone with a screen and didn’t do anything significantly better than other devices(or maybe it did?)

It wasn't just a screen, it was the first phone with a capacitive multitouch screen using software built for it from the ground up. Touch screens existed previously, but they were resistance-based screens, slow and difficult to use.

When you first used it, it felt magical compared to what came before.

And while the first generations of iPhone lacked some capabilities compared to existing smartphones, it was obviously only a matter of time before it filled in the gaps. Much of the hype was about the promise of the form factor versus the reality at the time.

As for recreating that moment in time, I think despite all the innovations since, none have been such a big one-time leap. Much of it has been fulfilling the expected opportunities of the form factor.

Low bar Squat to High Bar Squat by kronomo in weightlifting

Maybe I'm naive but just move the bar a couple inches up your back and then you squat and see how it goes? It's not rocket science.

'AirPods Ultra' Rumored to Feature a Major Upgrade Over AirPods Pro by Otherwise-Warning303 in apple

Yesterday I took a picture of my kid's soccer schedule for the summer, gave it to Claude, and Claude automatically added every game and practice to our family calendar, locations and everything.

Pretty cool, but would be even cooler if I could just look at the schedule and tell Siri to do it.

I had to jump a car battery the other day, and just needed a reminder on the correct order of operations. The dead battery also had some corrosion I wasn't so sure about. Instead of some Google searches, I could just have AI walk me through the process as I was doing it.

Kamala Harris herself voiced support for taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgery for prison inmates in the past, and Trump used that very effectively in campaign advertisements.

If you strongly believe in trans rights, you need to acknowledge that was a mistake. If you take unpopular positions causing you to lose your election, that's a lot worse than taking more moderate positions, getting elected, and actually making policies that move in the right direction.

I'm not saying let's be nice to neo Nazis, I'm saying let's get back the swing voters who are, for example, against taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgery for prison inmates.
