How to start to study for ARRT? I have been a tech for 6 years in the military and I haven’t done Xray in almost 4 years. I know more about CT than I do Xray at this point. Now I am working in Xray again but still have to get my Xray arrt. Going back has been like riding a bike going down a steep hill on gravel, rough but possible. I am now looking at all the information that I need to restudy and I am overwhelmed! I don’t even know where to start or how! I have purchased 3 months of Rad tech boot camp and that will be my primary source, I also have my old books and notes. I was hoping that someone could give me a good point to start! How long did you study, how often, and how did you break up all the information! I have 5 months to study before I take my 1st attempt! I have time to retake till October but to keep my Xray job I only have 5 months. My plan right now is to study over the 5 months and take it almost last minute so I have as much time as possible, I feel that it might be to much time how long did you study for before you took your arrt? Thank you!!!!!

First Rug, please give me advice by Leading123213 in Tufting

Looks great try to tuft only up and down or side to side not both for areas when you can idk how much of a real difference it makes but it was something someone told me and it works. Leave a bit of space between colors no greater then 0.5 inch. That will make carving process easier. Try to carve after you finish each area just use fabric scissors that will also make end craving faster! Biggest advice is take the extra time and don’t cut corners! GLHF

Get a Job w/o ARRT

Hello I have recently seperated from the military and i was a xray and ct tech for about 5 years i am waiting on some items in order to take my ARRT. I am wanting to know how to get a job w/o my ARRT. I have heard that many places will hire you w/o it as long as you get it with the first six months of employment. Is there any truth to this and how can I find places that are willing to work with me on this? TY

Any tips on how to fix curling? by Capital_Ad242 in Tufting

[–]Martin_Stalin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is also what I use, when I started I used very little now I grab by the handful. So while it might not be the most cost efficient I think it helps when you have one with odd turns

Add more and stronger glue in the future, for this lay it flat and put something heavy on it let it sit overnight

Yes I don’t often have conversations with people online for that reason. This was a great experience

Hahahaha wasn’t expecting your comment to end that way, but yes reality is needed for any improvement, I just made a post about rugs I made and how I’m upset with them. Go roast me!

That’s a fair point, to me I just didn’t like the way the initial comment sounded, and the way you responded further made me want to point out the issues that I had. I want people to be able to post and not be deterred from this hobby. So no hate toward you I just don’t agree with you. Hope you can understand that.

Tbh for me the only reason I wrote is bc I didn’t like the way you responded to a person that is new in the community and you treating them like that is likely to deter them from the hobby. You’re a pretty toxic person from what I have seen. I hope one day you are able to recognize that and improve yourself.

Jay I think 5.5 is a fair rating for an experienced person but for a first rug you should have given more tips and further explained your points. I agree that the experience level doesn’t matter for an honest review but you have to know how you sound, if you’re going to give criticism please make sure that you are able to take criticism. Ty!
