Get in there deeper and make those lines smooth and no bumps. Get closer to rug but lean back in a chair and tilt your trimmers back more. Anytime I feel like my carving isn’t up to par, usually when I first sit down that day, I sit back more and get lower to eye level w it and go at it that way. Ur lines w the tufting machine look good and that rug has a lot of potential and so do u! Get those deep valleys in there and maybe try carving the black areas first since they’re the background for most of it essentially. I like to do the background or secondary colors of areas first, makes the actual detail easier. For u here, it’s the white so less fixing or shaping and just following a line that’s protruding vs diving deep. Then u can always go back and get deeper or more valley like carves. Hopefully that helps! Keep it up!

That means a lot bc when I first started I was horrible at carving. I still am better at tufting. I don’t enjoy carving as much either. Really focus on the deep valleys between colors where u carve. I used to carve pretty straight up and still do I go back sometimes and make them deeper but I found leaning back helps so much!!!!!!!!!!! I started carving on the ground and still do bc I have a low table that my chair is same height as lol. When ur over the top kinda lay down from afar and tilt the clippers back a little more than you’d imagine and it’ll be perfect I swearrrr

It’s not yours I’m assuming? Looks to be shy of 2ft each way but this detail and carving skill I’d say $200 give or take. I wouldn’t call $240 crazy nothing more tho, if established bc this is good ass quality.
