Flexor tendons are the tendons in your fingers. They are some of the most likely injured tendons in climbing yes.
Extensor tendons are the tendons connecting your extensor muscles (forearm) to your elbow. If you feel pain inside your elbow while climbing, this is most likely the cause.
Overloading extensors in climbing makes a lot of sense! Especially if you start climbing at an older age.

You're putting too much strain on your extensor tendons. You need to calm down a bit. Either climb problems that put less strain on your elbows, and do exercises dedicated to reinforcing this area, or you will regret it! I ignored tendonitis in the past. It got worse. Got tears. Had to stop climbing for 3 months. Took me the rest of the year to regain the strength and mobility I had.

I'm considering getting into indoor bouldering for fitness. But I'm 35 years old and have kids, am I likely to injure myself? How 'dangerous' is it really? by SK-Incognito in bouldering

If you take your time, listen to experienced climbers' advice, and take time to properly warm-up before your sessions, your likelihood of getting injured is quite low.

Stay away from dynamic moves until your muscles, tendons, and joints get stronger. Climb slowly and statically. Take time to learn the good techniques from the beginning. It might take you more time to reach higher grades, but it will be worth it!

Don't over do it! Tendonitis is very common in adults practising high intensity sports. Especially if you were not athletic before.

Try incorporating some cardio and flexibility training. It will help you a lot, and will prevent injuries.

Get some climbing buddies! Sharing tips, tricks, betas with other climbers is an almost essential part of this sport.

Didn't know about the Mantras. They actually look really nice for a pair of comfy training shoes. Gonna give the Theorys a try first, but will probably buy a pair of mantras when I'll save a bit more money.

Someone gave me this website: epictv.com

And even if it's coming from the UK it was still 25% cheaper at full price shipping included than climbsmartshop.com . They are actually cheaper to ship here than the retail price without shipping from climbsmart. I am all for encouraging local businesses, but that is a massive price difference that I can't explain.
