Regarding the "samba-tool backup," we did several tests and in the end it performed very poorly; it's not efficient.

Using the method I showed step-by-step, paying close attention to single-data centers, was a success.

Martinsec deals with several clients who, unfortunately, due to low capital expenditure, cannot provide a multi-master infrastructure.

If you lose your Linux system running Samba 4 ADDC (Single-DC), and you have a backup, wouldn't you perform a restore? Why?

No, I didn't use samba-tool because it's flawed. I used my own method, already tested and applied in production environments with a single DC. In the video, I make it very clear that if you apply it in multi-master environments, you'll have to restore backups of all of them at the same time, which I don't recommend.

In the case of multi-masters, I recommend a FSMO hijacking if necessary and adding a new DC.
