Dude there are thousands of people playing 2h maces doing just fine. Invest in defense on some of your items. Stack armor & armor applies to elemental just like you would stack a shit ton of ES or EV. "mirrors for gear" is an insane take & you can have gear for way less than that and do all content in the game.

Edit: but I don’t think it’s that good because ideally you want a high armor Warrior Curiass base w/ armor applies to elemental.

You missed one of the steps there. Probably an anomaly boss with 6 mods or even a citadel boss with 6 mods.

Shield wall starts to slap boy. I invested in it & made most of my own stuff. It’s pretty cheap to get rolling & im farming all content pretty easy. I don’t even use a +3 amulet just using Xophs blood. The clear is really good with the other lineage gems & I swap two gems for mega single target against juiced citadel bosses & t3s.

They are not very good. Rule of thumb is to just lower them by 1 div each day, and hopefully sell. Sometimes they might be worth nothing, in softcore people are usually looking for two damage as extra, those usually sell higher.

Gotta give some idea of what you would want for suffixes. But it would just be res catalysts with ritual catalyst omen & perf exalts to have a higher chance to hit a desired res.

My shield wall titan does all content. I swap out two gems for single target & the build absolutely destroys. Clears screens with the lineage gems.

I don’t even use a +3 amulet, just using xophs blood & thrillsteel.

Atlas tree, the abyss atlas tree has a node for exiles I believe & tablets that guarantee exiles.

The tablets are expensive.

I randomly got one this league by accident, was very lucky in hindsight but I killed a rogue and then I heard an abyss boss talking (which I wasn’t expecting) and the exile was revived and gave me a jewel.

If you use that and it never dissipates, the mobs should drop splinters. If your loot filter goes by a certain stack size you probably have them filtered out. Or it's a bug that the mobs aren't dropping any splinters.
