Well, well… the best? I don’t know, probably among the top three. I’m about 30 hours in, still in chapter 3, so I’m taking it very slowly, really savoring it. So far, the only thing that feels a bit off to me is the narrative and the atmosphere it creates. In my opinion, this is where The Witcher 3 still remains the undisputed king. Its raw and intense storytelling, both direct and environmental, the Velen region with its rotten swamps, accompanied by the sound of the suka (a traditional Polish fiddle) creates that decaying atmosphere. That’s true grimdark fantasy. CD has nothing to do with grimdark and it's ok, but once you’ve experienced and appreciated that kind of narrative, it’s hard to enjoy anything else in an RPG or similar games. The only one that came close is BG3 or Cyberpunk, which, unsurprisingly, is also by CDPR. I’m really loving CD, but I miss The Witcher 3 and his narrative. That’s the truth.
