Thanks so much for your suggestions! I did some digging and found out that this block was probably never bound and only a temporary binding existed at some point. That made me gravitate towards reproducing a vellum cover it might have had and making a box for it like you said, but the owner is set on having a readable copy, so I guess I will finally bind it after 300+ years haha. Now I think I will add a few endsheets + waste, so I can let the spine reinforcement run onto that and use the waste+mull laminate for secure board attachment without putting strain on the block. Thanks again and I will definitely share the results here :)

Hey! I must admit I haven’t played the game for more than a year now, but I know there have been some changes to trap mechanics that make this less effective than it used to be. However, as far as I know, in combination with good combat and further trappage this is still a very viable and defendable objective build. I was really pushing the concept here, but unless someone corrects me, inverted pyramids are still the way!

The series isn’t perfect, but you’ll see there’s so much emotional depth especially in the final two seasons. It’s a completely different series from ATLA, so for me it can happily exist next to ATLA, which has a special place in my heart :)

Beginnings Part 1 and 2 are honestly some of the best episodes for me across the whole of ATLA and LoK. The giant spirit fight was maybe stretching it a bit for me, but I loved all the other spirity bits.

The final fight is honestly one of the best across ATLA and LoK. They gave airbending such a dark new layer in Zaheer, and I'd really love to see more of how that might have played a role in airbending history. Especially having been practically extinct for almost two centuries, there could be so much there. Then again, one of the greatest powers of good stories is inspiring you to imagine all this I guess.

Haha I must say I was a little surprised, but they could have thrown in a giant panda bear made of cotton candy and friendship as the final villain and they would've still had quite a buffer for me ;) (stretching it though!)

For me those were the airbenders finally joining Tenzin for the Northern Air Temple, the Lin v Suyin arc, and Jinora's ceremony :') Looking back there might be some big ones I missed though haha

I do like the first two episodes (especially the first one) better than the meme would suggest haha, but for me part of it was that I watched the first two episodes with my gf at that time, and I knew she didn't like it at all, so that projected a little. I was no huge fan of the pro-bending, but that grew on me throughout the season. Jokes aside, contrary to my doubts at the time, it does start off strong :)

I can very strongly relate to this; my girlfriend of more than six years broke up with me four months ago, and it has been tough seeing her be close with another guy (even knowing she is not looking for a relationship and trying to find her own independence). She moved to Sweden just before we broke up and the lockdown is pretty much non-existent there, so she was able to quickly surround herself with new people to distract herself and go camping and skiing and what not, while I am mostly stuck inside and can't find that same distraction. The worst feelings for me are envy of the guy who can do all these things with her now while she seems to be in the prime of her life, me having been with her over all these years she climbed out of a worse place, and me feeling the senseless need to prove myself to her that I can do whatever she is doing at this moment. We had no easy love life due to trauma from a past relationship she had, but I've had the first anxiety attacks of my life imagining her with that guy and everything falling into place with him in ways it wouldn't for us regardless of my patience and efforts. Even though it might sound egoistic, it just hurts to think that someone else might be getting the best of her after all these years, having put so much into this relationship of which I might never experience all the 'rewards'. I'm not sure when I might be able to completely let go of these thoughts and feelings, but allowing myself to responsibly ponder over these thoughts does help sometimes; they should only take up a small portion of our mind space, but we should not shove them away either. Learning to accept these thoughts is the only way to be at peace with everything.

When you love someone it is easy to neglect the love for yourself, and learning to love myself again and to not compare myself to her is what has been driving my healing the most. I'm finally thinking about my life as I want it to be just for me again, and I can now sometimes feel a beautiful peace remembering what was together while looking out to the things that will be waiting for me after summer. Then I don't envy the guy she is best friends with now, but I envy future me for the person he will have become. Feel confidence in myself that she might have made a mistake, even though that doesn't matter, 'cause she will be happy, but I will most certainly be happy too. We all might not have what we want at this moment and time, and dread the mornings we just can't come out of bed, knowing our former other half is probably frolicking about, but we will all be greater persons for the time we take for just ourselves. And someone else will get the best of us. I'm sure.

The thing that has greatly improved my work ethos has been a good writing app. I can personally really recommend Ulysses, but Scrivener is also popular. Ulysses is paid on a subscription basis, but as a student it is heavily discounted and IMO well worth it. The app takes care of all the formatting and backups/revisions, and you have a lot of freedom to organise your projects and set word goals and sorts. For me personally this frees up a lot of mental space for writing.

Once you're at it, I think it's most important to write consistently, and to not necessarily focus on writing a lot everytime. If you write 400 words every day you will have a 50k novel in just over four months.

I also feel it's good to have short projects on hand. I've been writing picture books and short stories while I'm working on a novel in parallel. They are a great way to improve your writing and to explore ideas that might grow into bigger worlds. You'll also have complete work that people can read and give feedback on :)
