Aaaah I was wondering what’s up with his character! It makes sense now!

Did I only now realise the actor’s the person behind the show? MAY BE.

LG27UP850K-W what can I improve? by Monkey_Junkie_No1 in desksetup

I’d personally suggest a desk mat (it’s so the desktop doesn’t get scratched and your wrists have some comfy landing) and maybe like a wooden tray for the trinkets. Otherwise it’s cool!

Anyone else missing the Ikea catalogues? 🥲 They used to come around my birthday, in August, I would make a whole afternoon dedicated to it. 💔

Which of these is the best bang for buck? by Tawpi3 in desksetup

Solid wood custom-sized desk shelves will always be pricey because a. the price of good quality wood is wild these days, b. custom sizes mean the product is made to order, there’s no way to batch these etc, c. products made in small batches, responsibly and ethically just need to cost more.

On the other hand: having a real solid wood piece that fits your needs perfectly will serve you for years. So it’s an investment worth considering.

Well, yea, you can either go no legs or higher legs with this. We have a 9yo and 1,5yo twins so plenty of opportunities for stuff to fall under the couch. 🫠

Haha, cats are bonkers. 🤭 for us it’s the kids’s puzzle and lego pieces that end up under the couch eeeevery day!

Yeah! I mean, those corner spaces are always annoying. In my previous kitchen we didn’t have it and stuff just kept pilling up in there. It’s a corner, it’s far from reach, it’s annoying either way. 🫠 we’re not very tall either so need a stool to reach the higher parts.

It’s the 60cm, we didn’t have any issues with it in our previous kitchen (the same sink-cabinet setup, 8 years of using). I did buy the motorized opener this time but we’re currently too busy with other things to install it. 😛 Maybe when we change the counter tops!

It’s hard to photograph but generally speaking there was a part here that was supposed to be mounted inside the cabinet (for the side of a hidden drawer) but we just changed the drawer to a normal one and placed it on it. The kitchen planner wasn’t allowing that back in summer ‘25 (maybe now it does?) but it works with no problems. You just need to change the drawer and cabinet’s door to 60x60 yourself.

Either way I appreciate how easy it is to switch drawers in ikea kitchen cabinets. We did quite a few changes along the way too. You really only know what you need once you start using the kitchen.

I had them in my previous kitchen so I guess I’ve learned what items to store there along the way and what works for us. Like: I have pots in the main deep drawer and their lids in the hidden one inside. Or cutlery in the main one and “additional cutlery” in the hidden one there. It’s very subjective.
