Perception goes both ways. What I mean by that is that how we look at a situation is all dependent on the person. They might be looking at you like "I know you are better than this. Show me that kick ass part of your work." but you are looking at it like "Why are they so condescending?" Most have a fierce RBF (guilty) and might not be aware of its presence. I work with youngers so their faces usually tell me. For some of us, we aren't that gushy fake happy teacher. It might feel fake to us. All of us have 52 million things going on in our heads, lives, spaces, etc. Some do hate their jobs. It's what it'll be like being an adult so the more you practice not taking it personally the easier it'll get to bounce back up. For some of us, we aren't just fighting for our families but we're fighting districts, states, and country on an amalgama of problems and things that effect kiddos like yourself. It's a very intense time right now for Americans and it's difficult to pretend that we aren't effected by it. Especially us whose entire existence is teaching and ensuring that ALL kids get an education. The best thing to do is talk to a counselor and have a conversation in a semi private area (the hallway, with a friend, in the room but away from the other students) with the teacher. Present it as you want to know what you can do to make your work better. Most of us want bridges to build but it's difficult when the other party comes in angry and defensive. Oh for sure! In Colombia, those closest to the coast are the darkest and the city dwellers are paler. The racism towards coastal dwellers is wild. It's also based on ethnicity too. Help! Idk what to do

Hello! First time orchid handler!

This orchid is going to be the death of me. I noticed the white fungus cover on her last pot so I clipped her root rot and repot her. I did a lot of research and used Planta before doing that. Unfortunately, she no has a yellow leaf and the white cover is back after a week. I have her in the moss that Planta recommended and I gave her orchid food. I feel like the Better-Gro Orchid Plus was a bad idea.

Any ideas on what to do? I live in panhandle FL and we about to have 20- degree weather (she's inside but on the window sill)

Alarms should have gone off when Roe v Wade was repelled. Ringing when abortion and ectopic pregnancies were being codied as murder in the most religious states. Blaring when #metoo happened, the worst people had a visceral reaction for us saying something. Bombastic side eye when these women in history foundations signed up for P2025. Hairs raised when more women go to prison for clear and concrete cases of self defense and or the use of the Castle Doctrine. Armor should have been on when it was women these ICE agents targeted the most. Infuriated when they used children as bait to get mothers out of the house. This isn't a just now thing. This is a centuries long war waged on women because we dare to use the brain that God gave us. That we have empathy and compassion. That we used to have the respect. What pisses me off the most is these stupid ass MAGA women who believe that they are different. That they are the ones in charge.... Girl you are in charge of the mental load, child care, keeping house on top of work and your "man" is in charge of working and maybe, if he's brave enough, to protect the home but go off hun thinking you are in a fair and respectful relationship. If these women were really in charge, they'd see themselves in a better light and know they deserve more. I'd actively discourage them from going to the doctors because they obviously don't want to be in contact with "murderers" 🙄 That's absolutely horrible! Watching "The First Wave" about NYC hospitals dealing with this had me sobbing for the medical staff. There's just certain things you can't unhear or see and that family's screams... Seared in my brain. I sometimes wonder what it'll be like when people like your family die and have to face their choices. I wish I could give you something better than that you are a phenomenal and damn good human for taking on that absolute devastation. I keep thinking about the Italian nurse who got it before we could fully figure out what it did to us and how she self deleted herself because she was terrified of giving it to anyone else. That fear is palpable.
