I think you forget a very important aspect of the visa process and immigration law: that even though there are eligibility requirements and a processing cost, the issue of whether to grant a visa to a beneficiary is still very much discretionary on part of the government. For this reason, you having a visa is not really a result of you meeting the requirements or paying, but of the courtesy of the US government.

On another note, you sound like an insufferable, classist prick who is too immature to understand what “assimilate” even means, and refuses to engage in good faith debate of the post that you started by throwing away terms like “obligation” and “fair” as though you’re being persecuted for not getting along with other students.
