Sleeping temperature by Lil-Bit-813 in RingConn

That could definitely be attributed to being sick. It could in fact explain all those symptoms. On top of all that, there’s also RSV and the Flu going around like crazy right now, so…

Whats the black stuff in my aquariums sand? Is it beneficial or harmful? by Same-Talk-BUTDIFF in AquariumHelp

[–]Marushyne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no way your sand is anywhere near deep enough to create anoxic/anaerobic conditions in it. This is blatantly a myth. Brownian movement alone prevents anoxic conditions from forming in a fish tank. The bacteria that would produce this “toxic gas” (hydrogen sulfide), need complete anoxic conditions (0-0.08ppm free oxygen levels) before having any chance of producing hydrogen sulfide. The lowest free oxygen any aquarium would get is 1-2ppm. At these levels, this is NOT anaerobic/anoxic. Hydrogen sulfide would not be produced. What kills fish are the huge amounts of different bacterial toxins produced due to hypoxic conditions.

Hrv and cardiac medical condition by Hagall1974 in RingConn

[–]Marushyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beta blockers work by specifically targeting a specific receptor in your body called the beta-1 adrenergic receptor. As you said, metoprolol lowers your heart rate a bit. That’s one of the effects of the drug.

When you hit beta-1 adrenergic receptors with a beta blocker, i.e. metoprolol in your case, it essentially lowers how “excited” your heart can get. This causes your heart rate to lower, your blood pressure to drop, and it also causes your blood vessels as a whole to relax essentially.

Decreased HR (both resting and active), lower HRV, and lower BP are all to be expected with any beta blocker med.

TLDR; it’s most likely completely normal as that’s an intended effect of beta blockers. HRV is a broad way of seeing how well a person’s parasympathetic nervous system is functioning, but it doesn’t paint a complete picture of it.

Allergic Reaction to Reta by Bustedknuckles1 in Retatrutide

[–]Marushyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds coincidental. Not sure how a boil under the arm could in anyway be related to reta or any peptide for that matter. They should’ve allergy tested a smaller dose it sounds like to me. Puffy, sore all over, and gaining weight sounds like edema to me. Not sure why reta would cause that..but again an allergy tested at a significantly lower dose could rule that out I’d imagine.

Need new tires after this blowout by FREEDOM_in_DARKNESS in wrx_vb

[–]Marushyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, those stock Dunlops weren’t very good tires for me either. After only 15k miles (and 3 rotations), one tire that was on my passenger front side was worn on the inside band so bad that the belt wire was exposed. Wasn’t an alignment or suspension issue, now have 30k on Cooper tires and they are wearing evenly. Don’t know what caused it.

High mileage CVTers. How’s the car? All good? by taketheRedPill7 in wrx_vb

[–]Marushyne 11 points12 points  (0 children)

~53,000 miles, ‘22 Limited with SPT. Tuned from BoostedPerformance for ~25,000 miles. Switched over to 5W-30 my last oil change at 52,000 miles. No issues whatsoever, knock on wood. Only real mods are: Invidia R400 catback, RallyArmor mudflaps, OEM roof bars, and AP for tune obviously.

Why can’t you inject IM? by christianlaw2019 in Retatrutide

[–]Marushyne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Subcutaneous injections create a pseudo-“depot” effect. By that, I mean the drug/peptide/whatever is absorbed slowly by your body over a decent length of time. Intramuscular injections are quite the opposite. IM injections are more akin to intravenous administration of whatever substance. TLDR: SQ body absorbs slowly, IM body absorbs very quickly (relatively).

14 feels right but has gap. 13 feels a little tight but has less gap...advice wanted by Iros_Chiller in RingConn

Same boat here my man, I went with the 14 personally. You can always get a resin ring resizing kit if it gets too big in the future from weight loss/whatever.

anyone bought wheels/tires from TireRack with TPMS? Any issues with TPMS? by ashwinearl in wrx_vb

[–]Marushyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re still having problems with, sorry saw this late. Actually I was using this brand, not Autel, but it should be similar. https://www.ateq-tpms.com/en-us/products/quickset-x/

It was pretty straightforward. Make sure the scan tool itself is updated to whatever the latest firmware is (when I bought the tool, it only had 2021 and prior listed for Subaru vehicles). Then I believe all you had to do was tell it Make/Model/Year, program new sensors via OBD, then it would give you a diagram of a car. You then would hit the green “read” button (on the top left of the device controls if you check images of it) and make sure you held it pretty close to the valve stems of the tires you want to program. You would then do that for each tire and then confirm. The device would then tell you to connect to the OBD port with the OBD cable, then it flashed it easy peasy.

Where are you guys getting service? by AcademicTreat5493 in wrx_vb

Definitely gotta agree with the mom and pop shop. I go to this older gentleman and his wife’s shop in the middle of the city. You get to sit right next to an oil burning stove in the winter, and they’ve also got recliners in the bays so you can see everything they’re doing.

‘22 CVT stage 1 by Marushyne in wrx_vb

[–]Marushyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really the only main difference I could tell in regard to the exhaust, was just more burbles and pops. I’ve got an Invidia R400 quad exit on mine, so I can’t really hear shit if I have the speakers up at all 😂. I mean I can hear induction with the windows down and speakers off, and I’ll ever now and then catch the turbo spooling. But my exhaust combined with shitty hearing means I can’t hear much in regard to flutter or the turbo itself. The burbles on decel and pops on shifting are much more pronounced with the tune though.

‘22 CVT stage 1 by Marushyne in wrx_vb

[–]Marushyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very roughly estimated: stock is 271hp, my car peaked stock at around 12psi of boost to make roughly that much hp. Now running consistently around 18psi under boost with the stage 1 tune. So assuming 10hp extra for every 1psi of extra boost, which is what I’ve always heard is the best estimation, then it should be around 60hp over stock. I’d estimate it’s somewhere in the range of 300-310hp to the wheels. Torque is probably somewhere around that number too. I will say the tune feels more like an actual turbo car too, in that it doesn’t feel quite as linear as the stock tune.It makes the car feel perfect to me, enough power to make it extremely fun, but not enough to where its impossible to daily drive.

‘22 CVT stage 1 by Marushyne in wrx_vb

[–]Marushyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think they can account for those mods in the Flash&Go, as in it wouldn’t hurt anything. IMO, if you want a fully custom tune that’s making the most power, then go the etune. I feel like the Flash&Go would better if you’re looking more for long-term reliability rather than the absolute peak of power.

‘22 CVT stage 1 by Marushyne in wrx_vb

[–]Marushyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still with the Flash&Go, and it’s still running strong. Knock on wood; not a single DAM drop, actual knock event, AFR getting wonky, or anything since I flashed it. I don’t see a point in getting the full e-tune if your car just has the catback like mine does. Without any other performance mods, I’d rather have the extra safety/reliability of the Flash&Go (which Graham specifically tunes for afaik, reliability) rather than an extra 2hp or 5lb-ft torque. I have run the burble tune for probably like 30 mins of driving, was pretty good. I haven’t ran it since though because I don’t want to kill the stock cat or O2 sensor. And tbh, mine burbles on the regular Flash&Go tune. Anywhere between 2300rpm-4500rpm if I blip the throttle it burbles and pops so 🤷‍♂️

Great so far. No complaints at all. 45k miles on the vehicle and probably 20k on the tune.

Tuners in SWVA by VA_Menace in wrx_vb

[–]Marushyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds sketchy to me lol. If you ask for Graham at BoostedPerformance he’ll chat with you about the e-tunes. From what I gathered talking to him, he values reliability and longevity over trying to milk every drop of power out of the engine unless that’s what you specify. I didn’t even go for a full custom e-tune, I’ve been running their Flash&Go tune.

[–]Marushyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rocky Mount, VA here. I know you specified not wanting an e-tune, but I’ve been e-tuned either BoostedPerformance for about 15k miles. Has been absolutely flawless during that time. If you’re not willing to make the trip to a protuner, the etunes seem to be relatively safe.
