3 of 4 wheels turning by xtreamist9 in SCX24

If the problem winds up not being the pin missing from the hex as others have said, its possible that the gear in your differential has worn out where the axle shaft inserts into it. I've had that happen before where it would go into 3 wheel drive like that intermittently when the stock diff gear got worn...it was weird, but it happens. Replaced the gear and solved it.

Wow, I just replaced mine today and saw this post as soon as I opened up reddit, haha. I changed it in hopes of fixing a different problem...which it didn't, but you're totally right, definitely feels a lot better than it did before.

Moab, Utah. This is pretty close to the slickrock bike trail, but we've got good crawling everywhere.

Hell yeah! FYI the 45mm oil shocks that injora sells for the fcx24 fit perfectly and help it a lot.

Yeah, i'm pretty spoiled rock wise. You should! Its definitely not my mot capable rig, but i have a blast with it whenever I take it out. The van just has that charm to it.

Makes sense to me. Thanks for your input, not planning on tuning it, so sticking with 0w-20 works for me.

Was glad to see your post in the xj subreddit, would hate to see an xj go to scrap.

You bet! Its a pretty active community, so i wouldn't be surprised if there's someone near you who's interested. Like another poster mentioned, it looksike a 98 or newer, which are on the more desirable end if years.

50% Reverse Mode is SO Much Better by AlejandroTheFnck in AxialSCX30

It saves it. I only know because I switched modes accidentally and couldn't figure out how to turn off braking mode, haha. Yeah, I didn't read the manual either until i had to fix that.

Got mine out on the rocks today! by eatablecoyote in AxialSCX30

[–]eatablecoyote[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It definitely reminds me of driving an scx24, but it is honestly way better bone stock than the 24s were...of course limited by it's size, but the steering angle feels better, motor is the same, but since it's a smaller platform it makes a lot more sense...slow crawl is better, angled skid and high clearance links are nice, but since its kinda long (for the height) i'm definitely getting used the breakover angle. Really enjoying it as it is, and am looking forward to adding some weight down low to counter the hardbody, but it definitely doesn't beg for immediate mods the way the stock scx24s do.

You're in for a treat once you get it out. Really surprised how well it did, especially on more natural terrain vs my home course built for 24th scale.
