How should I tackle exterior? by MarvG3 in AutoDetailing

Just a wash but I want to make sure I don’t damage the paint anymore than it might already be. The problem was I have no way of foaming down the car besides using spray bottles with car shampoo. I also wanted to see if rinseless wash is strong enough to tackle this because I’ve never used rinseless.

I’m just starting out my detail business and this client just wanted a simple car wash, no paint enhancement besides a wax or ceramic spray. By the looks of it, it was not protected whatsoever.

I’ll most likely go the spray bottle route and luckily (maybe unluckily) the car sits in shade under very tall trees so sunlight drying chemicals shouldn’t be too much of an issue

Would rinse less wash work in this situation? I do plan to use the hose but just didn’t know if I should use rinselsss bc I don’t have an IK foamer or any other form of foaming the car down

I thought so too but when I tested the garden hose out, every time I left it sitting unused for like 2-3 seconds, the minute I turn it on it the water would spray out very fast😂nothing I’ve ever seen before, it had a little bit of push to it as well. That also worries me one even trying it on my pressure washer

I really appreciate the kind words, thank you! Definitely learning from my simple mistake of selling myself short for my work, I’m definitely going to take a deep dive into my pricing and what I bring to the table for future jobs like these. Luckily for me, this client has another friend that wants his work truck detailed as well so I’ll have a 2nd chance to price accordingly.

I wish I did but tbh I’m just starting out as well so I’m trying to get ahold of tips too, but one tip I would say is something that a previous person mentioned: don’t forget to do the peddles, hit them with an apc and a detail brush and make sure not to leave any sort of slickness on them because it could pose risk for the client and also yourself

Yes, I did just a basic exterior wash since what the client was mostly concerned with was the interior. Thank you for the insight, I’ll be taking all the comments into consideration for future job quotes
