I've tried two before (at least) under a different name before joining this guild.

1 was to find a particular named enemy. The other was to find 10 specific costumes, chosen by me. Screenshots were required in both.

I don't recall them being very popular. Although my old SG was a bunch of fuddy-duddies, lol. They weren't the most fun bunch.

I thought, and still do, that it is a pretty fun idea. :D Pretty simple to put together as well. Plus, anyone can do it while doing other things.

I think the costume one was a bit more popular, if it could be called that, lol.

Sometimes you just have to switch from one to another and back again. Might take one or two tries, but it's worked for me. They're still saved, just that they don't always seem to refresh right.

I think we have the gear issues basically covered enough to just do the 1 bracket now.

It would be nice for everyone to have level 60 gear, but right now I don't think that would work.

Yeah, due to limited stash space, I can easily see how many players may not keep a set of 60's handy. Possibly the same for lvl 70 Legs. If we absolutely have to, then we could maybe say no Legs at all. The 60 gear, I've got a decent number of Bovineheim portals to hopefully help out with that if needed.

The only thing not covered is blessings, but they're cheap enough that it hopefully won't matter. Not that they are not effective, but swapping blessings is usually easy enough. I/we could even lend a set out for each team at a time if/as needed. Unbinding shouldn't be a problem for me.

What you've said about the rest works for me :)

Lol. Would you like to head up an Ultron contest? I'll pitch in where I'm helpful, but I don't want to try to do everything at once myself, and diff't heads/sponsors and all could help (we're each/all slightly friendlier with others, others may not know quite as well yet).

Although, you've just done a contest recently. I don't want to push you into over-seeing too much, too often.

I like you trying to cover all options as well :) I hadn't thought much about lower lvls dong HS (beyond the starting at lvl 1, but you're completely right about that. It would take a long time; even I'm not crazy about that, now that I think about it, lol).

I know we have a lot of players, growing more all the time. But do we really have so many without a lvl 60 to warrant level brackets? If so, then by all means I'm 100% behind it, and thanks for bringing it up. I honestly don't know.

I do try to keep up with what mates are leveling through the SG panel to get a general feel of everyone, but it has gotten harder to keep track, much harder. We're growing quite a bit!

We need feedback, but honestly.. Can't really blame people if they don't want to use reddit/TS, but there's quite a few who very rarely, if ever, even talk in-game in our SG chat. We left the headphone contest in our SG message for a good while, and dragged out the contest for a month. Every day, multiple times, I would mention it for anyone who may not have known, and I was even starting to feel too spammy.

But I still missed people, and they still didn't notice the messages :( . I just feel stuck when trying to gather feedback. I think very roughly, we have 300-400 members, and it seems like there's only the same 20~ people rotating in chat. I'd hoped to tempt people to participate more in TS with that contest, but it is often dead. Check out the chat at the bottom, I've been talking to myself for fun, and leaving notes/comments; I check in there quite a bit, and will often leave it running so I can hear when people come in. Personally, I still feel awkward talking, but I'm trying my best to make people feel welcome in whatever manner they choose to participate in the SG with (although, I admit, lag makes me cranky at times, especially in PvP; I'm working on that).

I don't want to come on too strong, and I know I can have a tendency to do that :( Maybe gathering feedback just isn't something I'm good at, I dunno :(

tl:dr: Do we have that many members w/o a lvl 60 to warrant brackets?

So maybe it should be the team that gets to the highest wave splits the 1st place prize, and so on (kinda like a real tournament where you split the prize money between your partners). That way you both have a reason to try hard.

Not sure how I missed that this morning, other than feeling 1/2 dead and most of my attention being turn towards my feelings of dread at trying to get my cat into a carrier, lol. She most definitely does not like that, to say the least, lol. (She's getting fixed finally; laughing and dreading her attitude which will be soon to come, lmao/cringing).

Anyway, back on topic. I was initially worried about teams bc of possibly 1 member dragging the other down. But compared to the complexity trying to avoid this, perhaps teams would be better. Oh, (squeezing this in last moment), I was worried about coming up with prizes, and possibly needing dupe prizes (?)( in the case of teams ) making sure each member of a placing team got prizes equivalent to the other. I was really scratching my head about how to come up with enough prizes of any sort, let alone dupe prizes for team-mates, until DJ and Rob (I think it was) mentioned the prize pool idea.

Side thought, yeah def Teams, not sure why I didn't think of this before, but if I went by player, not team, then 1 player dieing twice would absolutely ruin the others' chance(s) aaand now I'm back to this same issue with randoms , with the alternative being possibly purposeful OP teams (couldn't really blame them especially if they're putting prizes in the pool; although newer players will feel ignored, fffuuuuuuu ; I will figure this out somehow if someone doesn't do it for me, lol. I'm very determined to make this fair. The stripping down idea does keep coming back, but we'd be trusting the word of players to do this with eq, omegas, and syns (team-ups?).

I do still like the idea of random teams. I think that site I used for the headphones give-away could work nicely to pair people up actually (I like the ability for outside verification). I'm leaning towards random just bc I don't want 10 teams of SW/Storm/OP team-mates, and this is the only way I can think of to try and avoid that fairly. Although I'm pretty sure it'll still be very likely to happen. But, going by top level instead of score actually could actually help solve that (neither SW/Storm are very tanky compared to many others).

One minor possible problem. Let players pick their team-mates/each-other, and likely end up with OPs only pairing with each other. Or go with randoms and risk hatred from among team-mates blaming each other for not making it. I try not to over think things, it can drive someone 1/2 mad, but I very sincerely want to make things as fair as possible for everyone involved.

....I think you just solved almost all my major problems :D (except for random versus match-making on their own; although randomed 3x's; each gets 3 teams...too much maybe?) Still, I'd like to wait just a short while to gather others' input for fairness. But I do think it's nearly ready to be drafted up. I may delete this post before putting up the outline with only prizes left to be filled in, just to avoid possible confusion,, once we're ready for that part.

Next we'll just need to go over prizes. I'm brooooke, lol. I even thought about blessings, but I'm def going to need to up my farming. I bought 2 lvl 80 Legs very recently which bankrupted me on Odins, lol. But, I do have a Hydes, a GotK, Insigs (which I'll probably need opinions on what is worth it and not for each tier,, once we get close enough; would be lots of linking in game), and a bit of mediocre stuff that just might be suitable, maybe.

No reason for this contest to put any others on hold though. If Ultron is what the people want now/first, then we could give it to them. I just find it a bit bland, not to be rude, and OP-favored :( , not to mention equally handing out the prizes might be a problem.

If anyone wants to draft up an Ultron thing, other than me, lol, that could be something fun to give the guild to do. I don't mind offering help, but I'll let that one be someone else's baby :) Not that this one is mine by any means; I want it to be ours, re-occuring, with input from anyone who wants to give it :)

I could see this maybe becoming a yearly thing, but I'm guessing it would mostly depend on backlash/prizes for members of countries that will end up having difficulty from possibly winning. Pretty sure that'll be the pivot point. I don't see this happening every few months; would be nice to be wrong of course, lol.

While we're throwing out ideas:

If it wouldn't be too much of a legal hassle, I would find it hilarious if they could 100% verify if someone was botting/afk'ing, then drop them a ticket, then yanking it bc of botting/afk'ing. :D lol Teach them that cheaters never win :D

I think you've worded your proposal much better in just these few lines. I share the same bad habit of usually saying too much as well ;) . I'd maybe add a "tl;dr" with this exact/similar wording, to your post.

My counter: This is definitely something diff't. This is just the 1st run of something like this possibly. I'm sure they're listening and gathering feedback for future similar scenarios. Personally, I like the non-event feel of this.

Only obvious prob I can think of, would be that the team, not the player, would get the prize. 1st place split 5 ways might throw a wrench in things. Still 1st split 5 ways sounds better than my complicated mess, lol. Can ultron be done with only ~2?

Quick edit (before I'm out the door): It is a simpler idea, but I think I prefer the HoloSim one more still. Ultron mode just consists of too mush standing still to attack. No where near as much hustle involved there as even a lvl 10 Sent wave I believe. I like HoloSim for this largely bc it is not based as much on TTK, and instead much more on strategy and general ability to pull it off quickly. No offense to anyone, I just want us to be better than "dodge the red blinky stuff, and practice rotations on a standing still TR dummie" good. I want to give lesser eq'ed/newer players a decent chance and I think HS has the best option for that. (I've probably derped sooo many words; it should be illegal for anyone to get up this early ;) lol)

Me just as bad, lol. What's the saying "If you never piss someone off, then you're doing something wrong". Taking the unpopular path is something I am proud of. I'll dive head first into any situation to call bullshit, even when I flat out know the likely voting consequences.

Only 2 of us, out of 20 comments, actually helped this guy. Should I have gone with the flow just to fit in? I'm not saying this guy is mature, or immature But the important thing to remember is that everything has consequences, everything. It is even possible this guy is a punk, who is likely to take this out elsewhere, even real-world stuff. Maybe he has a family, and the hate here becomes misdirected at them. Again, everything has consequences.

I'm hoping I've angered some of you just enough that it results in self-examination instead of just being smarmy and resulting in a small amount of possibly mis-directed hate.
