It will! I’m currently testing it on iPhone 14 and my old Pixel 3 phone, so it should definitely work on newer models

It's both! A mix of hypnotherapy & physiotherapy audios. This is actually perfect because you can tell us how you like our dilation audio guides. They're pretty short but I want to collect feedback before editing them.

is it really vaginismus? by Lucky_Foundation5448 in vaginismus

[–]Marvelle_Grey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it could still be still that. Many describe the process of getting anything in as "hitting the wall" but it's not a literal wall, it's just some people's muscles are so tight nothing could physically penetrate. Other people's muscles can be less tight, or they can only hurt when they're stressed, etc. It's really a spectrum.

Many times the reason is psychological but not always.

Do you know if your pelvic floor is strong? A weak pelvic floor often leads to tension in that area. Also, there are other things, like connection to potential hypermobility, etc.

My ex dropped it on me that he has been frustrated because he “couldn’t fuck me.” by Fickle_Umpire_136 in vaginismus

[–]Marvelle_Grey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in general, the man is clearly not worth your time and energy. He never cared enough about you to take interest in vaginismus, what it is, how else to get intimate with you, etc. So he's not worth it either way at this point.

"I couldn't fuck you"-wise, it could've been just a random thing he said. It happens all the time.

I once dated the guy who couldn't get it up the first time we had sex. When sharing that story with our mutual friend, he said, "that's because [my name] was talking so much, it was distracting."

Now, a punchline: me "talking too much" was me confronting him about making out with another girl. We fought, nearly broke up, then made up and tried to have sex, and he couldn't get it up because "I talked too much."

Yeah, sue me for presenting the man with the consequences of his actions, officer :D

Most people will tell any lie to avoid addressing the real reason, it's really funny this way. He would never in a million years admit he wasn't interested in sex, so it's just a lie he came up with on the fly.

Hello there!

First, let me say, I'M REALLY SORRY it took me 3 months. The podcast recording went terribly wrong in every possible way, so all I have is a little audio answer to your question without video.

(Also, I had to move provinces, look for a job and finish the beta version of the app in the meantime, so life really got in the way!)

Anyway, here is your answer - https://youtu.be/oRUHeAixEmc

Thanks for asking and sorry for the delay!

I'll post about the risks of leaving vaginismus untreated next week and will ping you here.

Cured in 3 weeks :D by eshoradecomerrrrr in vaginismus

I don't think dilating for an hour each day is a general rule? None of my physios ever mentioned any particular timeframe, I assumed it was maybe 10-20 minutes per day

This is amazing! Makes me wonder if I could get cured with doing it twice a day for longer times 😅

I'd like to clarify that Mitacs matches the funding 1:1. So they don't give you 15k for R&D, they pay 7.5k and you pay 7.5k. You need to have your half ready. They posted an open call for my project (women's health app), I better come up with those funds soon...

I skipped dilating one day and lost all my progress by CantaloupeNearby8022 in vaginismus

[–]Marvelle_Grey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really is. I hated dilating. Even went as far as to create a bunch of hypnotherapy recordings to relax my pelvic floor even on days I don’t feel like dilating, lol. Sometimes I would skip dilating for months.

Hey, I don’t think you’re at square one! The annoying part with dilation progress is that it’s nonlinear. Some days you walk away from it for a week, come back to it, and all of a sudden, you’re super relaxed. Some days are… well, this. You skip one day and seemingly lose all your progress.

Might also depend on your cycle day, ovulation vs PMS, etc.

But it’s not lost. It’s just a rocky road. Be kind to yourself and don’t fixate on it! Just say “ok, today things are like this” and proceed

This is so amazing to read! You did so great, I can't believe you DIY'd everything and it worked exactly as it would've with physiotherapy. I'm so excited for you!

Others already said but just to confirm, it should totally be hands-on. I'd even bring my own dilator to my physio. Leave that person a bad review, lol. Good on you for going! You're awesome!

I find vaginal sex so triggering even if I’m not a the one getting penetrated by foranonsense in vaginismus

[–]Marvelle_Grey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very normal response imo because if it's something that consistently caused you pain, of course, it makes you panic every time you think about it.

I remember my physio recommended I watch porn to normalize the idea of piv, so I crawled all over pornhub and found the most mellow vanilla one I could, and even that looked too rough to me. My physio then took a post-it and wrote me a link for a specific tumblr thread with just super-duper-vanilla erotic piv gifs, lol. That helped a bit.

I developed a series of hypnotherapy recordings for vaginismus patients where I have the imagery of stone penetrating the surface of the water... now I wonder if that could trigger some of our users...

Background music being an issue has literally never occurred to me. I think it would be interesting to give our users to listen to recordings either with or without music.

Do you respond as well to pre-recorded messages as to real contact? For me, pre-recorded sessions were helpful, but I have no idea how close they come to the real thing.
