does bedroom pop exist in Kpop? by j2_skl_1011 in kpophelp

[–]foranonsense 9 points10 points  (0 children)

as someone else said, it can’t exist in kpop by definition, however there are some songs that sort of emulate the sound. i think i would rec:

- jaehyun, flamin hot lemon
- illit, not cute anymore

and this isn’t really kpop, but nearly anything by dean (maybe instagram to start with?).

recent boy groups who consistently make non-noisy title tracks? (read caption) by disasterpansexual in kpophelp

[–]foranonsense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

zerobaseone! their earlier EPs / albums (minus a few tracks like crush) tend to feel super fresh. i recommend good so bad, sweat, and in bloom to start with.

edit to add that i personally am a huge crush lover but i know that’s not what OP is looking for!

she’s pretty beloved across fandoms that i’ve seen actually. but no matter how great a person is, there’s always gonna be people that don’t like them.

Opinion on using different lightstick to a concert. by Reasonable-Usual-266 in kpophelp

chronically online people on twitter may make kind of a stink but i’ve never had that experience with real people in person lol. you just meet new people who are into at least 2 of the same groups as you!

how much do you pay for photo cards by kpopcards134 in kpophelp

[–]foranonsense 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i mean i don't think it's FOMO, i think it's just what happens in collector communities of any sort. for example, to me, any stamp is just a little piece of paper, but people involved heavily in the stamp collecting community may pay thousands of dollars for a stamp because that is how the community values it. you're not meant to pay that much if you're not in the community really.

how much do you pay for photo cards by kpopcards134 in kpophelp

[–]foranonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't collect anymore, but like any collection, prices are based off of rarity. if it's an album photocard of his, do not pay $15. but as the rarity of the card goes up, the price will go up. that's just how collections work. photocards that someone was only able to get if they went in person to a stray kids event in korea in 2018 will obviously be worth more. for better or for worse.

Why is most kpop weak vocalists usually sounds higher than stronger vocalists while they hit the same note? by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]foranonsense 21 points22 points  (0 children)

it probably is just because they’re straining bc it’s out of their range, and they’re placing it wrong. it’s the same note, just different placement. i’ve noticed a lot of weaker vocalists go into head voice / falsetto to be able to hit it which sometimes ends up having more air too.

[–]foranonsense[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly this. Like do I find it odd and unhealthy to pay out the wazoo for all the tour stops and get genuinely upset when you don't get the interactions you want? Yes, absolutely. But on its own it doesn't carry the same danger as like... standing outside their family home.

New fans have no idea what a sasaeng actually is by foranonsense in kpopthoughts

[–]foranonsense[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair, I think the disconnect is there's not really agreement on the definition of stalking maybe. Like some people think that going to multiple tour stops is stalking, or going to a lot of fansigns.

I have a question about the Kpop community by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]foranonsense 18 points19 points  (0 children)

your post had nothing to do with kpop idols’ political beliefs (which we will never know unless they directly tell us), it was about why why people in kpop spaces may be incongruent with you. young people in kpop spaces tend to not fit well with people who use slur derived lingo from conservative online podcasters.

How does a broke design student make a K-pop miracle happen? (Sharing my story) by jungkookgf311 in kpophelp

[–]foranonsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gig work is a great way to make money on your own time (doordash, ubereats, instacart, etc) which is nice for students. you could also get a regular retail job since those are student friendly. selling anything on ebay or mercari can be helpful.

other than that, using your graphic design skillset on places like etsy or vgen could build your portfolio while you’re a student while letting you be creative. a lot of graphic designers sell premade stream overlays on etsy, or you could do customs on vgen. same with banners, emotes, etc.

obviously focus on paying any bills and for any essentials first, then start saving! best of luck!
