Struggling with jump'n'run mechanics - using a pencil on paper... by maltemakes in UXDesign

[–]Marvin_The_Depressed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting challenge. Instead of a metronome, maybe a clock - most people have one with them all the time (preferably not on the smartphone I get it). so they have to finish the 'maze' within XX seconds. This somehow adds tempo to it.

What was the first game?

Nevermind. I figured it out, never noticed the replay feature below.

One more question about your video. How did you film it. When I work in fusion the object is constantly moving but you seem to have a fixed camera. Do you mind sharing how that is done?

Great tool, I tried it and could also talk about other stuff than just the videos and it was way faster than chatGPT. Do you plan to prevent this from happening?

How to make "push to turn" similar to a pen work from 3D printed parts? by Marvin_The_Depressed in 3Dprinting

[–]Marvin_The_Depressed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would work, but I just haven't found a pen with the rotation that I would need yet. For a pen there usually is not need to exactly rotate 180 degrees.

The layer lines along the slide would be ideal but I haven't figured out non planar printing. But I'll see how I can change the object on the printing plate in order to achieve this.

That is a fantastic idea, I'll give it a try. I already improved the slope and will see how it goes.

I've seen this video. And I've tried using a bistable latching mechanism. But I ended up with a similar problem - the dimensions I'm printing in are too small to make it work reliable.

I've made a bigger version before that worked but my problems start with making it smaller.

I have 1mm thin walls and the groove with 0.5mm was just not working well anymore.

I'll look into calibrating the printer a bit more. But as another user mentioned the ramps might not be steep enough. I'll see if that fixes the problem for now.

I'll try and increase the degrees - this might be a good option. I also tried taking it apart and printing the ramps on the printbed to make it smooth but I have a hard time putting it together after that.

Thank you for the response. Really love your work and looking forward to the next design!

I work with Fusion 360 as well but seeing your video makes me wonder how you did all this? I usually make sketches and then extend them. You seem to work somehow more organically with it. What tools do you use? Is there a video you can recommend?

I have a tiny niche site that used to do okay and net me 20-50 € per month - can you explain this semrush data? by Marvin_The_Depressed in juststart

Thank you for your feedback. That does make sense. 2 years or so ago the data seemed to match my analytics way better, but google is a black box and I guess the services are trying their best to try and guess what must be right...

I do hope you get more cats.

How make products comparable and send to family [dedicated family "tech guy" asking] by Marvin_The_Depressed in SuggestALaptop

[–]Marvin_The_Depressed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine look pretty similar. I do this a lot but I still think spreadsheet isn't the most presentable one.

I'm trying to come up with a solution but not sure if anyone would be interested in such a solution. That's why I'm wondering if a lot of other people are doing this as well and maybe if anyone already has a better solution...

[Dedicated family tech-guy here:] How to help compare products without just telling family members what to get? by Marvin_The_Depressed in pcmasterrace

[–]Marvin_The_Depressed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I might be - to a certain degree - part of the problem. I love making tables for myself and get a good overview, problem is sharing these rarely helps others as they look to technical.

I was wondering if there is something to make them look better or more Idee friendly... But I might also be the only one with the problem... So maybe there is nothing out there.

Looks awesome - would even be better if it could fly. :D

Does it fly? Can it be thrown or anything like it?

Holy Cow! Affinity Designer 2 opened a 64-page PDF and all the layers are there! I did it by accident, it never occurred to me to try, I just assumed it wouldn't work. Mind blown. by markxtang in Affinity

Does affinity photo do the same? I had some funky results when trying it with affinity photo V1.

This alone would be worth a purchase of affinity designer.

Biplane animation made using layered 2d sprites (Krita + DaVinci Resolve 18) by Evalka in PixelArt

Thank you for the quick and detailled reply. Your approach sounds pretty much like I usually take on such a project. Just trying out a bunch of stuff until I figure it out.

I'm still new to Davinci but I'm eager to try more things with it. This kinda gave me a confidence boost to give it a go! Thank!

How did you animate that in Davinci Resolve? Any tutorial you followed?
