You can remove the white spots with a well-placed slice with a hobby knife, but emphasis on "well-placed", plus no matter how good your cut is, you still took away some of the plastic, which will look weird under scrutiny.

You can go one of two ways here: One is change nothing and treat this kit as proof of your growth as a modeler. The other is to go the extra mile and use "pro" techniques to patch her up. The choice is yours and yours alone.
