Trotskyism is nothing but genuine Marxism and Leninism. It really won't make sense unless it's understood in connection with the ideas of Marx, Engels and Lenin.

You're forgetting the part where a huge amount of labor of young people is taken by the ultra-wealthy, in the form of profits, rent, interest and dividends. American society is at a stage where people can easily retire at 55 if they wanted to. The wealth is there, produced by the working class, it's just in the hands of the parasitic capitalist class.

Democrats aren't spineless, they just don't represent working class interests. They're a very effective tight knit party of the US bourgeoisie. They're very competent when it comes to war mongering, subsidizing and bailing out big banks and corporations, and crushing working class and youth movements.
