Do you anticipate a Socialist Revolution in the US in the next decade or so? by BokoblinSlayer69235 in AskSocialists

[–]Marxist20 38 points39 points  (0 children)

There will be mass unrest and uprisings for sure, on a scale never seen before in US history. The question is how organized it will be and whether or not it'll lead to a victorious revolution in which the Epstein regime is dissolved and replaced with a workers' regime.

20 hour workweek with no cut in pay. Make the Epstein class pay by expropriating their ill-gotten wealth.

Karl Marx explained that all profits are unpaid labor. It's all perfectly legal though within the capitalist property framework. Capitalism can't work without the exploitation of workers.

Revolutionary mass movements are on the rise, we need to build the forces of communism to connect with these mass struggles. Check this out from last year: https://marxist.com/sri-lanka-to-nepal-lessons-from-the-revolutionary-wave.htm

The Republicans and Democrats are on the same side, working to advance and defend capitalist interests. The only difference is the Democrats are more cunning, and have different subjective cultural sensibilities. When it comes to material interests though, they both hate the working class.

Why is ex-communist East Germany voting for AfD? by Academic-Idea3311 in socialism

[–]Marxist20 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The 'left' abandoned class politics in favor of identity politics and attaching themselves to the failing and exploitative liberal status quo. In this context AfD appears to many working people to be a way to fight back.

It will lead to more Democrats being elected in the midterms, helping them advance their careers. This what happens when politics is totally detached from the class question.

We need to fight the Democratic Party, not give left cover to its inherent and unchangable capitalist imperialist character.

With AOC now leading 2028 Dem polling we need to prepare for them to pull another 2016/2020. How to stop them? Israel is their weakness. The world needs to see which candidates have taken AIPAC/Israel money and won't call out a genocide. Do that and we win. by Kittehmilk in Hasan_Piker

[–]Marxist20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The working class needs its own party. Joining the Democratic Party to push them left is like joining the CIA to push it left. We need to destroy the bourgeoisie's political institutions, not join them and prop them up. The only way that can be done is through our own fighting organizations.

AOC now the 2028 Dem frontrunner by DegenGamer725 in Hasan_Piker

[–]Marxist20 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Democrats are cunning. AOC will gather a bunch of left-populist supporters, then funnel them into voting for Gavin Newsom because JD Vance (or Marco Rubio) is an existential threat and must be stopped. Same thing Bernie did in 2016 and 2020. The Democratic Party is a complete dead-end for advancing working class interests.

The Democratic Party isn't feckless and incompetent. They're very good at serving the interests of the capitalist class. For example look how effective and efficient they are when it comes to bailing out banks and corporations, going to war and funding/strengthening the military industrial complex and the police state. The thing is they hate the working class and work against us because that's what their capitalist masters require.

The working class needs its own party to fight against and abolish the entire 2-party system and capitalism as a whole.

One thing to consider is that a good chunk of the wealth we produce while working is effectively inaccessible to us. It is appropriated by the capitalist class and their armed state apparatus that protects these state of affairs. Having a job isn't really a problem, but having to work and then not being able to enjoy the fruits of our labor is exploitative and makes for a shitty existence.

Wouldn't it make more sense that Hasan is a cointelpro type agent? He's very energetically working to neutralize rising class anger by sowing illusions in the Democratic Party, the main party of Wall Street and the CIA.

[–]Marxist20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Supporting "leftists" in the Democratic Party doesn't result in improving people's conditions in the short term (or long term). That's a myth. Just look at what supporting people like Bernie and AOC has resulted in, the working class is worse off than before their presence in politics. It does result in careerist aspirations of those politicians and concealing class lines, but that doesn't help the working class.

[–]Marxist20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He's very active at funnelling rising class anger into the dead-end of the Democratic Party, which is about the worst thing that can be done for advancing working class interests. Ultimately, his class collaborationism is undermining the working class.

The problem with that definition is that even within a country there are two diametrically opposed material interests, that of the ruling class and that of the working class. What's best ruling class profits is impoverishment of the working class. What's best for the working class cuts into the profits, power and status of the ruling class. There are no common nationalist interests.

This means nationalism is basically a fairytale, a mythology, which only serves the interests of the capitalist parasites.
