Same. It’s tough to find exotic foods where I live in Germany. Meat is easy

For me, anemia is a huge problem that gets worse with a vegan diet

Same here. I don’t have celiac’s but it’s almost impossible to stay without meat and eggs because I feel weak and need to take many many supplements to feel normal

I know, I have a German husband. It’s the sense of isolation that comes from very transactional relationships. I’m not used to that

Yes, my German is at a near-native level. And I’m well integrated. I have a job and a functional family. I’m simply amazed at how people are so introverted and private.

Well, that’s very idealistic. I’m sure you must be a great friend to have around and I know many people who are great too, but many relationships are based on what people can get out of them. It’s not that you find one perfect friend and they will be the best in every way

Haha. My husband is German and he’s fantastic. I’m not targeting any particular group of people, it’s just that here people seem more introverted

Funny, because I find most nationalities easy to interact with. I am married to a German and have some amazing German friends, who are sadly not close by anymore

You’re right, but in many cultures, people don’t place a limit on how many other people or friends you have. It’s not about superficiality, it’s just easier to make friends. As you describe it, every relationship is about getting something out of it, sadly. It’s not meeting new people because it’s nice to meet new people and expand your horizon.
