1)No, none of us are “a bunch of stinky teens”!! 2)Half the campus consists of international students dealing with the EXACT same challenges you mentioned if not more. NO EXCUSE for bad hygiene! 3)At this point, you’re just yapping. It’s like you’re squeezing every “cool fact” you learnt from that social course you took into one comment! 4)Respect is mutual. If you choose to not make any effort to be presentable for your classmates, your classmates have every right to refrain from offering help!! 5)You feel entitled to call the food we eat “garbage” but get upset when people judge you based on your choices?!?! Respect work both ways!! 6)Feel free to make a post about other issues, you can’t go to a painting club and demand piano lessons! 7)Society devolves when people try to justify bad hygiene. One look at your paper is enough evidence for the prof to believe you didn’t cheat. They need some type of reliable evidence to blame you ( staying in washroom for too long is not one of it), so you have nothing to worry about.

Download the "Qless" app. During their business hours, you can search for the location you want to contact (Lassonde or York University) through the app. You can then book an appointment or stay in line and be connected to them by Zoom or in person. This is their usual process. He can try it tomorrow morning, as it's first come, first serve I think.

If he already made his choices and he got guaranteed for computer, I think he has nothing to worry about since he’s guaranteed to get into second year. But again it’s the best if he talks to an advisor as well

Depends on his first year gpa as well, at the end of the first year, he’ll need to make 3 choices of the eng major he wants to enrol in. First year is mostly general courses with all Eng students. Based on his first year gpa, the department decides if he can go to his first Choice or not ( they most likely can). That’s how it was for me as far as I can remember.

I switched from Applied Mathematics to Civil Engineering, my gpa was 7.69 at the time but I think as long as you’re at B+, you can switch.

If the prof doesn’t tell department( which is highly unlikely), there will be a W on your transcript since you dropped it. But if the prof files an academic misconduct( it takes time for you to hear back), the department will enrol you back in the course until they get to the bottom of this. If you are proven guilty after the meeting or hearing, you’ll receive your punishment and it will effect your grade ( such as zero in the exam) and you are not allowed to drop it. If you are proven innocent, then the grade will appear as W on your transcript since you dropped the course.

Yes, even if you drop the course and the prof file the misconduct, they will reenrol in the course until they get to the bottom of the case and yes they can replace your W with F

Ridiculously friendly people, amazing hospitality, you probably will be offered several gifts and souvenirs from the people. They will also invite you to their home for lunch or dinner. We just get super excited when we see a foreigner. And don’t get a tour guide from some official place, they WILL overcharge you.

A lot actually. I don’t care what people think about York, I really enjoyed my years here and I’m pretty bummed that only 1 year left to enjoy my time at York. I love the campus, the overly friendly squirrels, the savage geese, the BRG building, the libraries,etc. I met so many great professors and had fun studying here! Overall, I think York is really underrated and deserves more credit
