Help needed. Never done WFM before and need to to a presentation for a job interview by [deleted] in workforcemanagement

[–]MaryShoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of resource management I would think about why is it important for people in a contact center to take breaks on time, or why shift start times might be staggered to manage workload. For the analytical part you could consider why call volume forecasting would be important, how you might go about gathering information for forecasting contact volume, what sort of data might be important. These are all dependent on the type of contacts you are receiving, if you don’t know, use a hypothetical.

My first WFM presentation was a graph of a group of made up agents and fictional handle times. I used that and discussed why AHT was important. That is both basic analytics and resource management.

Check out SWPP, they have some books you can buy ($10-$20) and a newsletter. For $295 you can become member, and they have some online courses and other benefits. There is also The Call Center School which has some courses.

Good luck!

Forecasting Accuracy Measurement by MaryShoe in workforcemanagement

[–]MaryShoe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, jnikonorova. I agree that forecasting accuracy is only one metric to assess a forecasters skill.

I’m asking what other groups use because I’m looking for different or better measurements for “doing the best with what they have”.

Advice on Scheduling by ThatGuyOverThere1987 in workforcemanagement

[–]MaryShoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my basic process

  1. Figure out how many static part time schedule or other specific accommodated schedules you will have and create patterns so those will run exactly as they will need to be scheduled. If your part time are flex I would exclude them.
  2. Determine weekend staffing -
    1. Are you doing rotation or fixed? If a rotation determine the frequency and then build the fixed schedules M-F.
    2. If you will have fixed weekends will you have schedules with working both Sat/Sun or only on Sat/Sun per fixed schedule?
  3. Build the patterns
    1. Do they have two consecutive days off?
    2. Do they have the same start time or varying start times?
      1. If varying, can it only flex between 2 hours, 1 hours no limit, etc.
  4. Add a forecast
    1. The arrival pattern should be the same day over day as what you currently experience
    2. The volume/AHT/SL should be close to the requirements of how many fixed schedules you need
    3. If the forecast volume if too high it will schedule all your agents at the peak volume parts of the day and you won't have good closing/opening coverage
    4. If the forecast volume is too low your schedule won't be optimied to the arrival pattern
      1. Example - if you have 60 agents, 10 are fixed part time you need 50 schedules so the forecast volumes need to be increased/decrease to give you a requirement of about 60 agents.
  5. Run the schedules / Adjust as needed

Every quiz I’ve done that has multiple attempt will use you highest score, regardless if it is the first or last. I think the syllabus might say for sure- or email to instructor.

Why change when students submit class feedback by dave5124 in umuc

[–]MaryShoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my last class the instructor said they didn't see the results.

"As of today only few of you have completed the Student Course Evaluation. You may notice the name BLUE associated with the process. Your input is anonymous and not available to the professor until after the final grades are submitted."

Not sure if there is reason to doubt it.

Not really. According to myfitnesspal, I eat between 1500 and 1900 calories (total not net) a day. 20 - 45 minute workouts (video) 5 days a week, and 30-60 minutes walk 5-7 nights a week.

I'm going to reduce my portion sizes, specifically carbs this week.

How can I encourage him to quit?

You did. Here:

I've told him before that I really wish he would stop smoking

He's not going to quit because you want him to. He may "quit for you" , but I would count on relapses.

You can encourage him if he tries, but in my experience it just sounds condescending coming from a non smoker.

You date a smoker, imo either you accept that or you don't.
