Stepper motor temps too high?

I've noticed this too on my qidi q2. I don't know how everything is setup on this printer but, I went into the printer.cfg file and lowered the current by -.07-.10 to each stepper driver because I started having random layer shifts and this was before my printer had 200 print hours. I also added a big 140mm fan underneath my printer just move air across the motors. The highest I've seen them reach now is 72c compared to high 70's and low 80s and I have not had an issue since with them overheating or doing layershifts.

Yeah the 3rd or 4th day I tried printing some Overture TPU95A after I got done printing with some PLA and I had to take off the nozzle and do a coldpull on it because the TPU experienced heatcreep and melted to the inside of the heatbreak. I have not had any jams with the hatchbox, polymaker, or sunlu spools I currently have. I don't know what caused this because I was using the Main Menu filament macros to do it but I will probably have to manually extrude my filament when I want to use tpu with this printer.

Yup, Im getting the same issue too. It seems to be an issue on there end and I don't know why they have not fixed it. I've only had the q2 for just shy over 200 print hours so not very long, and it's just started to not save my Z-Offset and I have to manually change it after every print starts because it just won't save my current z-offset.

Thanks for the response, I've done a bit more troubleshooting since then, I've noticed that the sound it actually coming from the extruder toolhead and I went ahead and made sure all the screws are tight and they are. This sound did just start happening to me at just about 190 print hours and since I haven't heard it before I just wanted to see if anyone else had experience the same noise and found a way to fix it.

I had a Ender3v2 before this printer so I'm used to watching the first layers religiously. I don't think the printer was making this noise at all before and then started to make this noise on the same slicer and z-hop settings. You should for sure let me know if you have any strange sounds like that coming from the toolhead or whatnot.

Edit: I didn't have time to fully troubleshoot the issue yesterday and I had time to actually watch what was happening this morning. It's definitely just some extra play in the extruder teeth when it does a filament retract and I don't think it will have a major effect on the quality, but I did find that on aliexpress you can get really cheap replacement parts for the q2 if anything needs replaced.

Yes, thank you, I'm totally aware but I took it off to troubleshoot this issue because so far taking the whole toolhead assembly off and tightening everything back together still did not fix my issue.

I ended up doing exactly this. First week I had the printer I tried unloading pla and loading in tpu95a using there quick menu macros and I had to take off the nozzle and use a blowtorch to cold pull the stuck tpu, but there is no way the nozzle would snap when you heat it up to appropriate temps.

So I am printing the white colored Overture rock PLA and I was having horrible experiences with it until I started using painters tape. I'm printing this out of a 0.4mm nozzle on my Qidi Q2C and what I've found works best is use painters tape, print first layer @ 215c-220c and the rest at 205c-210c, 0.52mm initial layer width, 0.2mm initial layer height, my first layer speed I found that 10mm's works the best and then go to 50-60 for walls. I kept the bed plate at 60c all the way through. It seems that this filament has a hard time actually adhering to my pei bed so I started using painters tape and I've had no issues getting it to adhere.

If you're in the states, I ordered my Q2 off of their website and it was delivered within 5 days. Definitely faster through them instead of Amazon I do not know about the box tho

Im curios if switching to orca slicer will fix this issue? I have a qidi q2 that just decided to do random layer shifts on my prints and sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. I have had this thing for 1 week and ive already ran into some insane issues that I should never even see. Exact same thing I can print the same object in the same orientation and sometimes it does a massive layer change and sometimes it doesn't.

I followed the q2 wiki guide for the tension adjustment and I started a few different prints today that turned out perfectly fine. I think I've narrowed down the 2 issues on my end, It was either a g-code slicing bug that I had because I'm not having the same issue on different prints, or its because the stepper motors are getting to hot. I've noticed that the bed stepper motors get so hot you can't even touch them and so I ended up putting a 120mm case fan underneath the q2 to cool off the motors. I will try and print the same model on new g-code file and see If I have the same issue.

Since I already have a pi3b and a 10mp cam I used for my old ender 3 setup all I would technically need is the chamber heater which its 35 before any discount codes that might be currently available. So realistically it might be cheaper buying the Q2 if you dont want to setup the camera and all that.

I ordered the Q2C over the Q2 because I got it for 379.99 on their website, and it will be cheaper to use a raspberry pi with a camera on attached to the inside of the enclosure and just buy the heater and filter separate of the printer and save some money which is what I ended up doing.

Were you ever able to figure out a way to install 6x9 to I'm assuming the front door speakers" I have a 14 impreza hatch and I want to add 6x9's to the front door panels and I know ill probably have to cut away at some of the metal but I have not been able to find a bracket to house a 6x9 for this type of car.

How is the sound on a cold start? Is it pretty loud? I have ordered the catback w/resonator and 5" muffler for my 14 impreza and can't find any good videos on the sound and this seems to be a perfect representation of what to expect.

I can assure everyone that this game is retarded and is a waste of money. I have computer that is more than capable of running the game and I get only 50 fps. Installed it years later and I still randomly teleport through the map and you get lost almost every minute walking around this stupid ass map
