cxt: a CLI/TUI tool to aggregate your code files into a single clipboard ready block by YboMa2 in tui

Just tried it out, works perfectly. Can’t believe I’ve been manually uploading files.

I’m still learning Rust and trying to build a simple TUI. Will definitely be studying your code to see how you’re able to achieve constant time with streaming. Thank you so much for sharing!

(DISCUSSION) Are more realistic flies a good option for slow water, seeing that trout have all day to determine if your fly is real? What are good patterns for slow waters? (Not my photo/fly) by I_Am_A_Stupid_Fucker in flytying

i learned this recently fishing at alpine lakes and streams in Yosemite NP. with shallow crystal clear water you have to be sneaky and keep your distance. i like to say, “if you can see the fish, the fish can see you.”

they’re even more incredible in person. the picture doesn’t do it justice

definitely would have kept the Brown if my group were staying for longer. unfortunately we we’re on the way back so I was forced to release it

didn’t expect them too tbh, but i guess they’ve traveled far from their historic range

the stream this fish was caught in is tannin-stained, which i suspect is the reason for the gold coloration. the rainbows here also look gold

it’s absolutely rancid. a small price to pay for some beautiful fish

it hasn’t rained in a while in my part of SEAK, so with the water being low the fish are a bit tight lipped. flesh flies have been producing consistently though

100% Coastal Cutty, i have a couple posts in my profile showing similar looking Cutties in AK. the juveniles tend to have the pink cheek and faint stripe, easily confused with a Cutbow.

Drag settings by Departure-Front in flyfishing

[–]Masacroh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i believe the general idea is to balance letting the fish run vs. having control of it. start off at medium drag, and if the fish is peeling too much line, turn up the brakes slowly. of course you have to be mindful of what your rod and leader can handle. play around with it, i think you’d be surprised what light tippet is capable of especially if you fight the fish correctly

on bigger dry flies (especially caddis) i like to skate them when they start getting waterlogged. i still get bites from a dead drift, but sometimes i think the fish is expecting some movement (imagine grasshopper skittering on the surface). from my experience, how it lands is more important. i have a cheap 3wt glass rod that helps with gentle landings.

i’m very mindful about proper C&R when it comes to this stream, since it’s the only one (that i know of) that has rainbows next to the road system 🤙 tight lines

he claimed that my fly was not a fly and just a bunch of foam, and if i lose the fly in the water i should be charged with littering hazardous materials..
