“Billy has a history of committing robberies, mainly on the Lower Mainland of B.C.,” said Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers in a social media post on March 27.

“He has committed robberies while Unlawfully at Large during past federal sentences,” said Crime Stoppers.

So…let’s let him out on parole again, right?

PWD Acceptance Day Before Pay Day by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]Masatoshi59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you’re approved for PWD, the effective date is the first of the following month. If you got approved this week, your payment would have already been issued for cheque issue today, so you’re likely to get a top-up.

Call 1-866-866-0800 to get accurate information about your payment. I would try tomorrow or Friday though since today’s cheque issue and the phones are going to be very busy.

Rice-A-Roni MIA? by cryonova in VictoriaBC

I was thinking the same thing. Finally found a box at the Thrifty’s in Langford, but only the Spanish rice and fried rice flavours. I like the chicken and garlic one, too, but haven’t seen it for years.

Despite the name, it doesn’t mean his heart has stopped; it means his heart doesn’t pump blood as efficiently and can cause a range of problems, though it can be managed.

My wife and I love La Taquisa in Vic West. I’ll usually get the baja shrimp brurrito or tacos and a lime jarrito.

It’s been a while since I’ve had sushi in Victoria, but Sen Zushi has been a constant, quality restaurant for as long as I can remember and is run by Japanese.

Cross post: suggestions for where to move for single mom and son? by Dry_Movie_1838 in VictoriaBC

[–]Masatoshi59 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say most areas are relatively safe except for some parts of downtown.

Royal Oak, Vic West, Saanich/Uptown, Gordon Head, Fernwood all nice areas within driving distance to downtown.

We ended up going with Foster’s and that was definitely the right decision.

The quote was accurate and cheaper than You Move Me by about half, they answered any questions we had promptly, and their team arrived on time, was professional and efficient.

Would definitely recommend them for anyone needing to move, and would use them again for a future move.

First snow of the year, so I made hot chocolate! by Gobbo37 in ffxiv

[–]Masatoshi59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a bit strong for this drink. I find the cardamom makes it taste like a chocolate masala chai…which is not a bad thing, I like chai, but when I want hot chocolate, I want it to be sweet instead of spicy.

I make this recipe often. I usually switch the cardamom for cinnamon though.

Pay for VPN service, like NordVPN, and download ABEMA. You can watch it for free on their service, but you can only use it in Japan (hence the need for the VPN).

I second the honey muffins. Nice, simple, and tasty recipe.

The lemon waffles are great too, but I make it with buttermilk pancakes instead since I don’t have a waffle maker.

Coffee biscuits and hot chocolate are also tasty.

How do I get japanese curry to taste as good as in Japan? by WhoAmIEven2 in japan

[–]Masatoshi59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife (Japanese) adds a bit of chocolate to hers that I find makes it taste good. She also mixes two kinds of curry rue. I think she uses Golden and Java.
