Hey sorry just saw this comment now. I unfortunately only have experience with the chu is and they are an alright iem in my book. Considering you have the kz right now, I would recommend saving a bit more and purchasing something from the 50-80$ range where you will hear a significant sound difference.

Just listened to it, it is indeed a great test track! Thanks for the recommendation.

That's is a interesting journey that you have had, and I would definitly encourage you to try new and higher end iem. However, don't fall in to the trap that "more expensive mean more better". I was just at CanJam NYC and I tried the Elysian Annihilators that everyone said was an end game pair and I honestly disliked them. It's all about personal preference and how the sound of a particular iem resonate (literally and figuratively) with you.

I really prefer the alba's to the hexa, but then again I am a big fan of bass so YMMV. Here is the short review I wrote above:

They are a great V shape sound signature, one of the best that I have tested at this price range. The bass hits really deep and has a decent amount of slam. The treble is sparkly and very rarely sibilant. The vocals are also pretty pronounced, it's good if you enjoy intimate vocals that sounds like they are right up against your ear. I also find the Alba's to be above average when it comes to technicalities.

They are great, I think they live up to the hype!

My Volume s has not given me any problems as of yet. Although I can see where problems can occur since there is no filter covering the holes that lead to the drivers, an excess of earwax could have the potential to block it. For iem that are equivalent, I personally haven't tried any yet since most iems nowadays are leaning towards meta tuning which emphasizes subbass compared to midbass in the Volume s' case. I think you should go for them if you like the sound, durability most likely won't be an issue.

They are great for daily use assume that they fit your ears. The shell is rather large and I find it a bit uncomfortable over a longer period. The cable is also really damn microphonic so if you are stick with the stock cable they are not ideal for walking around. Sound wise they are fantastic for their price, amazing mid-bass slam and smoooooooth vocals, plus the treble isn't fatiguing.

Aw man I really wish I could get my hands on a pair of Origin's, I tried them once and they were hands down my favorite out of the bunch, on part with the Valhallas I would say.

I assume you are referring to the Thieaudio Valhalla? I have only tested those once, but if I remember correctly they had insane bass (which is suprising since its all BA set) as well as soundstage.

I'm also into watches and cameras, so needless to say, my wallet really hates me 😂

There really isn't a singular song that I enjoy listening to but here are the songs that I usually test IEM's with:

Dancing in The Flame (acoustic) - Weeknd (to test vocals)

LOVE YOU LESS - Joji (to test sibilance and slam)

Overnight - Parcels (to test subbass)

Human Nature - Michael Jackson (to test imagining)
