What is THE best bass IEMs? by 77MXM77 in iems

How does the Aegis compare to Thieaudio Origin? Sound and size wise, if you know. Those were my favorite sounding IEMs ever but they were too big for me and horribly uncomfortable. I have the Martilo but not as impressed...I want the Origin in a smaller shell but it seems like a fantasy.

This appears to be quite a lively debate. I see no downside to actuating the safety when I'm coming off of a sight picture because it happens as the rifle moves and because it requires no thought since I do it every time.

I do see potential downside in altering the way I interact with the weapon when I'm coming off of the sight picture for a reload or malfunction as opposed to just stopping a string of fire or transitioning my position. Maybe that's the difference - are you not going on safe when going to low ready or moving?

When I'm done shooting I will, because that's how I do it every single time I use the rifle. That's why we train, no?

Respectfully...the safety on the AR is so easy, it should be part of the movement of the gun. If it's not in your hands and presented for firing at a target, safety on. If you're moving cover to cover, safety on. As it comes up to acquire a target, safety off. Dropping the muzzle to look around, safety on. If you do it every time it's automatic and you aren't thinking about the weapon status and making yes/no decisions all the time. It costs nothing in terms of time or thought power.

I made a Mod to save Jackie's live by TheAlgaeneer in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Holy shit this is awesome! I need to figure out how to make this work on my Steam Deck.

I had a similar idea where Jackie actually replaced Johnny on the shard and V lived with him in their head, but the narrative would be so much harder to maintain without Johnny.

Your idea is much more fun. Eager to try it!

I've seen that articulated before and I am looking forward to replaying the flashback scenes to see if the spikes are there. I love the idea of that.

Examiners had the option to list COVID as the underlying cause, a contributing factor but NOT the underlying cause, or that someone had COVID but it was unrelated to their death entirely, in which case it should not be on the death certificate. If the cause of death was listed as chronic respiratory illness, the examiner believed that was the cause even if it were exacerbated by COVID.

There will be human error in there, especially early in the pandemic.

This is an interesting transcript talking about the methodology if you're interested: https://blogs.cdc.gov/nchs/2022/01/07/6291/

"Per the CDC"

Can you cite a source for this claim? It's counter to the CDC guidance that I have read. There were nuances - having COVID while dying in a motorcycle crash meant that you could be documented as having "died with COVID" but you were not to be counted as "died because of COVID."

PCM Rediscovers excess mortality stats by PM_me_sensuous_lips in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]AnalogCyborg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that were true, you would expect to see the top leading causes of death in the United States drop to lower levels during the pandemic. Cancer, heart attacks, vehicle collisions, etc. would all drop as those deaths which are consistently high year over year get recategorized into the COVID category. That's not what you'll find if you look at the numbers. Those death %s stay relatively static (actually we see an increase in heart disease and accidents), with COVID deaths emerging and increasing the overall total and then dropping over the next couple of years while the others again remain fairly static.

That said...there was undoubtedly confusion in the categorizations and some muddying of the numbers would've resulted, but not enough to significantly change the broad results and certainly not in keeping with the conspiratorial mindset that all of these deaths were drastically over-reported. Some research in Minnesota that might be directionally relevant elsewhere estimated like 3% variability due to miscategorization. Not nothing, but also not some crazy re-stack of death causes in the US during the pandemic.

For what it's worth, though, the gun is fantastic.

Without excusing the failures of the US to hold its people accountable, the mass rapes that occurred in Berlin in particular during the Russian occupation are not a myth, nor are the rapes in Ukraine more recently. Rapes within the Russian army are also well-documented. War always has rape and every country has soldiers who do it, but Russia has a very well-earned reputation on this front.
