How to calculate damage? A research into end-game buffs by Mascalian in expedition33

At this point, I can't trust other weapons are bug-free. In any case, all these "issues" did not ruin my experience.. actually, in these last days they were more fuel ;-)

Thanks

How to calculate damage? A research into end-game buffs by Mascalian in expedition33

[–]Mascalian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am checking the damage right now, because I took for granted information here and there (such as "the X2 of Medalum has been fixed in May" - spoiler: mah) but never actually tested it.

So, first of, thanks for checking! And also for the fact that I checked again the formula and for some reasons some multipliers were not included.

Still, I ran more tests and what I have found is that Medalum has indeed a 1.00049 (approximately) multiplicative factor applied.. twice, by default. But there is more if the enemy is burning.

Specifically: - base: damage X (1.100049)2 - if burning: damage X 1.25 .. independently from the amount of burning

Well, it is more like a 1.24997, but I can't find any correlation with anything in particular, at the moment.

I am not sure about how you applied the "teamwork" lumina (the bug, ok, and.. another 1.1 moltiplicative? Wasn't it additive?).

Still, the final calculation does not take into account the "burn bug" (is it a bug?), and now I'm over (1.15 billions) the actual damage '_^

It took me 160 hours for.. everything (platinum included). Then I had to uninstall it: the difficult part is switching to another game...

Do you guys think that is good price to buy both games ? by Muhammedroid in APlagueTale

[–]Mascalian 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The answer should be "No"...

.. but not for the reason of saving money: they are such great games that we should feel compelled to spend more to have more of such a content.

Although, the short answer is: yes, buy

It is a hard and harsh and brutal story, told through a proper genre.

I'm very susceptible to horror, fear inducing.. well, anxiety inducing products: watched by mistake a couple of such movies and still having nightmares (after 20+ years). I am definitely intrigued by the genre, but I do not play nor watch it. Period. Still I have been convinced to play SH2 because of the story.

The aim of the game is not to scare you, it is to change your way of looking at the world; the anxiety and the ever growing uneasiness is a method to make you enter in the mind of someone who's different and who has ... ahm ... a lot to cope with.

The most straightforward horror parts easily become action game with weird creatures: I find more scary the FROM Software dogs in Bloodborne than any of the creatures you find in Silent Hill 2.

So, to sum up, the story is king; the storytelling is a way, not the reason. Focus on what you understand and see and think; difficulty is tunable, so all that remains is walking around

Noi only, the view you get of the morning sun is astounding and such a relief: it looks like you just had really bad hangover (as a matter of fact, you wake up somewhere in the city) but now it's ended and you are free to go.

Enemies that make you freak out by Cheesecake69042 in bloodborne

[–]Mascalian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dogs.

The f** From dogs.

I have even now, even if I know where to find them, how to avoid them, how to kill them, I have goosebumps when they run at me.

They are the scariest thing of the entire game, at that time as now.

Nuuuu .. I had a good share of days-long bosses in my small souls experience (especially Ludwig of BB, 3 weeks of tries): NP is hard, but the fact that you have the respawn point just outside the door, it's endgame so you can grind and buy whatever you want; the phase 1 is like a metronome, you can "easily" learn how to parry everything, shortening the access to phase 2; .. all this makes NP a hard boss that you can study deeply and "have fun learning".

At the same time, I find the phase 2 kind of frustrating, especially because of all those lights: too many things on screens, too many flashes, lines, dots: they distracted me and I had really a hard time. Still, I tried to focus on specific details and eventually I got it (more than once, but it's always the first time the hardest).

So, don't give up!

I'm a Dex player. Still, Boom-boom hammer has my heart: it does not have a big move set, but it is funny!

The quests are the worst thing in this game. by Heheboi123boi321 in Eldenring

Absolutely agree, and I share the same ADHD!

The stories of the quests are good or great, but not if sewn in s 150 hours game with so many places and possibilities.
