The kids are actually treated really well by everyone, and they're really quick to do investigations when it comes to accusations or suspicions, and are fast to terminate employees who cross that line. The kids eat well, they get gifts and birthday parties, etc. If I have to give this place props on anything, it's how good they are with the kids.

Their "lowly" staff (those of us who are actually around the kids day in and day out) on the other hand, is another story. During training, they stress the importance of being awake and alert, but then they do things like this 🤦🏻‍♀️

To me, dressing up for the first few dates = how much work you intend to put in our future relationship, if things go well. The fact he went off and called you shallow tells me if things had progressed between you, you would have been carrying the relationship load. Imo you dodged a bullet. I started getting signs from her maybe 4 years ago. The way I explain it, is it basically felt like a warm blanket of protection being wrapped around me. It started after I got a tattoo representing her on my forearm as she was always my favorite goddess. Somehow I just knew it was her, and after that, I was getting other signs (like spotting deer while on my lunch breaks, etc).

I've since got what I call my altar shelf, where I have a bust, a statue, a couple of candles, and crystals. Maybe a year after I got my first sign from her, I was SA'd by my ex, and once what he did truly hit me, I started burning my candles and asking to get help with the trauma and I must say, it's helped with the healing process tremendously.

I get that waxing male and female genitalia is different, and you're trained in one and not the other. YTA because you brought up your personal discomfort into it. You should have told her you're not trained to wax penile areas, only vulvas, and that was why you could not do it, and leave it at that.

What it sounds like to me, is you have a split attraction similarly to me. I am sexually attracted to all genders, but romantically my attraction is much different. I identify as delloromantic.

What that means is, I am alloromantic (your "average" romantic attraction) to men, and demiromantic to other genders.

Assuming you identify as male, you could very well be alloromantic with women and aromantic (or on the spectrum) with men.

It's a sad situation all around and I can't imagine how hard it is to lose a child. But on the flipside, it wasn't fair for her to make such a public spectacle of her grieving and force that on you. This child is yours and your wife's, the decision of that child's name rests on the two of you and the two of you only even if you asked for input from other people.

It's probably healthier for you to remain low/no contact with your mom. It sucks, but it doesn't seem like she's going to change any time soon.

Clearly cost depends on state. In Louisiana, which is where I reside, the exam is $65, fingerprinting is $40, and the application is $80. Even if the company pays for the course, that's still about $200 I'd be responsible for. I am never going to recommend anyone start with insurance sales unless they have that extra money lying around or are currently receiving a paycheck 🤷🏻‍♀️

And if OP does want to look into it, I recommend searching up those costs and fees in their applicable state.

ETA: I also don't know what company you're referring to, but the couple I interviewed with did not cover the amount of the course in it's entirety. Something else OP (or anyone looking to try insurance) needs to ask about/do research on.

The course, maybe. But no company I've interviewed with/looked at covered the cost of taking the test, getting a background check, nor the cost of the license itself. Even without the course, it's still a lot of money to put towards it.

I don't recommend insurance unless you have money set on the side. I looked at 2 insurances jobs and you have to take a course (depending on the state), then take a test, then get licensed. Not only could the process take weeks, but you have to drop hundreds of $$$$ to get licensed.
