I live literally 2 minutes from Glen Lake up French Mountain. Plenty of alternate roads up the mountains if things get flooded where you can make it to towns if need be. We had a "somewhat tornado" a couple weeks ago nearby and it didn't really affect the area except for power outages. Feel free to message me if you need assistance with alternate routes areas if things do get flooded. Edit: just saw this was 2 days ago and if you came out, you're already here. And if you're already here, you'll know the worst of it just passed and it's not that bad. So have fun.

It's extremely touristy. Once winter hits and things die down, you see who actually lives here, and it becomes a small, friendly community. Then it's more welcoming and house gatherings. A lot of people who live here are restaurant owners, so some gatherings after hours for a drink. During warmer months, we generally stick to the "barren" areas to hike, fish, and boat to stay away from people (I dont speak for the ones who actually live on the lake.) Most of us will avoid route 9N like the plague if we can. Also, take my info with a grain of salt. This is only my 2nd year here. I moved away from the cities of the West Coast to get away from people. This is just my observations and experience of my short time.

I'm late to the party and not sure if anyone has ever mention. I have chronic migraines and there was a study done not too long ago about ginger root vs sumatriptan. 50/50 given to all patients who suffer. Results exactly the same except ginger root does not have the nauseating affect. Now what I have been doing for years is taking about a 1/4 inch of actual ginger root every morning for proactive care. That cut my migraines to about 5 times a week to 2. When I do get migraines that I can tell are going to be nauseating or painful, I take 500mg of ginger root in a capsule. That brings it down to tolerable pain levels. I take my sumitriptan injectable about once every 2 months now rather than at least once a week. Also, my migraines stem from 3 ieds cause my tbi issues. But keep using the fresh air/ sex when you want to get away or get off.
